I have been using a red dot since the early 90s and have always been a fan of them. The technology has advanced with the ARD so much that it makes it even easier to use. I really like the adjustability for ranging out to further targets. I used to have to mentally remember how high to hold above a deer when it was further out. Great product.

I'm 70 years old and have been hunting all my life. I remember when our state fish & game commission used to call archery and muzzleloading "Primitive Weapons Season." Those days are gone! I'm glad I switched from compound to barebow recurve back in 1986. Sure simplified my life!

I’m right there with you. At this point, in my opinion, compound bows are just spear guns. I’ve hunted with rifle, compound, and trad bows. The feeling I get from a successful trad bow hunt by far surpasses that of using a bow or gun.

@@jayr7471 I wish I could get more deer with a compound. Got like 4 but I have missed many more. Trad bows are super cool but if I can't even be consistent with a compound, I don't think I have any business hunting witha trad bow

This thing is crazy accurate. Been looking for the best sights to help me with aiming however after stumbling on the ARD setup my life changed. This thing is so easy to sight in and once sighted in it's game on. Seemed heavy just looking at the setup but trying it out will blow your mind out of space. The built is well built and for me personally, it's worth the money and very accurate...very easy to getting used to with less stress.

Very interesting concept. I'd probably try it out sometime. The beauty of a red dot is that you don't have to have it centered in the tube. It's best if it is for your sight picture, but if it is off to the side of the tube it should still hit where the dot is on the target.

I to have been using a Red dot on a home made mount in between the riser and bus cable. It is rugged but it is also out of harm’s way. The point of impact is not effected by location in the scope, as long as I can see it it is spot on. Which is nice for awkward positions & bulky winter clothing.

Like a rife scope. You sight in 100, DOPE your scope and rang.. then you learn your hold over or under. Any 100yd and longer range shooter has a book. Do the same with a Archery Red Dot. VERY intriguing way to put a single pin on a bow. I do not shoot a Compound (currently Longbow), so forgive the ignorance, but your 2nd Bow's (with Tree-Camo) top-wheel appears to be missing the spokes to maintain the integrity of the wheel? I could see small "screw-features", but the spokes where not there. Just want to make sure that is ok like it was shown...

However holographic sights like the Eotech and the newer Vortex model is heavy, expensive and battery hungry.

Yes, my husband has been shooting a fixed red dot mount for over 30 years. It’s what inspired him to fix all the things he wished the system did. The ARD is very high quality materials, only weighs 13 ounces and most importantly is adjustable to distance. Tim has been thinking about this for a long time and now has the engineering and high end materials to make it what he wished it was. We enjoy seeing those that know of the concept get their hands on the new system and appreciate all the improvements. It’s been interesting to see the younger generations learn about this technology too.

So does the slider version move up and down in an arc? Because just moving it up and down on the bow 2 inches will only change the point of impact by the same 2 inches. And it will move your anchor point up and down. Something is funny here.

The front adjustment is micro adjustable and the rear slider is same as usual. So you get your twenty with the micro then just slide the rear for yardage as you'd expect - that's how it sounded to me. But like most sights you can also move it up and down as well, so it clears your arrow etc.

2 inches of movement with the sight is much more then 2 inches of change in point of impact. The gaps between your pins in ur bow sight are what 1/8 to 1/4? If you move a red dot such as this straight up and down it will only change the point of impact the same amount as you move the sight. It would be the same as moving both front and rear sights up or down an equal amount. It sounds like Nate is going to explain this in an upcoming video.

Besides that, it's not much of an advantage in accuracy. Some would argue just the opposite when not magnified at all. I'd prefer a peep and fiber optic, but can't use them. Legality per state, that's a whole different ball of stupid and prohibitionists will always take away what they can despite logic. Remember when pistol braces were for handicapped people?

The glass looks to have a very harsh tint to it, meaning the battery life is not very well optimized. The reticles could be useful for bow shooting, but I dont like the ones they have selected.
