Forgot to mention: These are 24x reluctor engines which is why they use a P59/P01 PCM. 2005+ Trailblazer 5.3's are 58x and need the Gen 4 PCM's.

I have a 69 C10 Chevrolet truck. All things considered what engine/transmission would you recommend with a $3500 ceiling. 6.0?

A 6.0L with a 4L80e is hard to beat for that budget range. Should be around 1-1.2k for a running 6.0L and another 1k for a good 4l80e. Nearly bulletproof combination and the truck would have a higher resale value then a 5.3L / 4L60e combo if you ever need to sell it.

I wish they were that cheap here.

Do you know the RPO code on this engine? Or maybe what VIN engine code would indicate it's aluminum. Thanks

    706 heads not ideal?

They're fine, but the 2005+ LH6's come with 799 heads, which can be better. Really it depends on the application, turbo's don't care and 706 is fine if it's got a wuhan war whistle, but for a high reving N/A cammed engine the 799's flow better on the top end.
