I like how Treister gives him one last little test when he tells "Do not let go of that wheel boy! there are 2000 souls on board!" and Hunter grabs the wheel again right away, however in a few moments we know that was bullshit because Hunter completely lets go of the wheel and nothing changes. So the wheel at least at that moment is decorative/symbolic, but Treister was able to see that Hunter was more interested in keeping those 2000 souls safe then he was dealing with his personal loyalties, meaning he was the right person to leave the OSI to.

And it's subtle writing like that which is what made the venture brothers the best cartoon series pretty much ever It was funny it has some great mountains and laughs but when they wanted to write something good and serious they did it in spades. Which is of course why adult swim had to cancel it because it was making everything else they did look like absolute trash that it was

The higher is your rank in the OSI, the crazier you are. -Special Agent Brock Samson is crazy enough to shock soldiers. -Colonel Hunter Gathers is crazy enough to shock Brock Samson. -General Treister is crazy enough to shock Hunter Gathers (Which sounds like an impossible level of craziness to reach).

Meanwhile, Corporal Snoopy is arguably the sanest and potentially one of the smartest members of the OSI (and is trusted with the Bridge from time to time despite his low rank) Maybe they pump the agents with drugs and the longer their exposure, the more superhuman and crazy they get (possibly starting at the rank of Sergeant, considering that's what Hatred was when he got pumped full of super soldier steroids)

Man I Love how Treister knew Everything about SPHINX From the very Beginning. Everything was a test, to get Hunter ready to lead the OSI. Treister led the OSI in the Pyramid wars, while Hunter constantly hunted the guild. The General knew that when time came for him, he needed a man most experienced in secret wars to hunt down the Guild. Heck, he might have even known that SPHINX didn’t kill Jonas Venture but still fought the War for publicity sake. Most importantly though Treister needed someone not afraid to tell the Washington Suits to bite it. Hunter was the perfect selection, and the SPHINX op program proved it.

Maybe Treister knew SPHINX was set up. Maybe Treister didn't care. Maybe SPHINX wasn't guilty of this, but they were still bad guys and Movie Night was good enough of a pretext to take down SPHINX before they set up to do something worse. When life gives you a box of chocolates, you crack a few eggs and make lemonade. And then you bury all the evidence, incase you need it later.

I love how Treister out-awesomes Gathers that even HE feels intimidated by him.

Let's look at the facts of the series: 1) Aliens are real (Grand Galactic Inquisitor, that Cthulhu thing.) 2) As head of the OSI the general would be privy to more alien data/secrets/technology than almost everyone in America. 3) General Triester is a master at discovering secrets and building strategy. If anyone can find aliens and convince them to cure his peepee cancer it's general Triester.

@@DianaGohan the movie is the only thing we get for sure. Maybe there will be a spin off or whatever in the future. From a logical standpoint how would j.j. survive that, he is a cancerous ridden non-meta human. Granted he has intelligence but I doubt he could build sth to survive that in this short time. Treister is a Hulk, we can assume his power level from the door opening and ripping out the engine. It's not Green Hulk strong but surely strong enough to survive a gun shot or even tank ammunition. Also questionable that he survived the explosion, but as you said it's venture Bros after all.

I got the pee pee cancer...

And he does become a Hulk in the end, oddly fitting

What I find most surprising about this scene is that some people honestly think that Treister is dead, if it was anyone else I could understand but come on it's General Treister it's only a matter of time until he returns and you can bet it'll be both crazy and awesome

Still one of my absolute favourite moments from this show, another plot line brought to a close and new one opened up.

Spyro Fan *Your prayer has been answered.* Timothy Treister *DID* crash into Gargantua 2, which is where he met Dr. Jonas Venture Jr. and Dr. William Wailand ( "J.J." and "Billy Quizboy") he mistook them for extraterrestrials because he's never met anyone as short as they are before. Oh, and Treister absorbed so many gamma rays during his journey that he *acutally* gained Hulk powers.

He straight up told him nothing is what it seems and that idea persists until the very end of their conversation. I won't say that's genius, I don't throw the word "genius" around lightly, but that's very clever.

Treister was in his late 70s before being shot out. Red Death is also in his late 70s. What if Treister was the original Super Soldier and was arched by Red Death back in the day. Treister is extremely fit for his age, so it could make sense. Red Death is also in great shape so he could have had a botched version of the formula, causing his condition. Thoughts?

The funny thing is that this idea (of the a super-spy agency being infiltrated by a super-villain group and a renegade bunch of the spies searching and eliminating this infiltration) came up years before Captain America Winter Soldier. :D

We have giant hoverships, mind erasing machines , sentient robots, humans that can predict the future, teleporters, but we can't cure cancer

I am so glad that he became a Hulk in the end. Shame it was short-lived (as far as we know).

in the context of the show this was a really emotional moment
