SUA person went to KCI airport to pick up Hunter. He was drunk and drinking and fighting with his girlfriend at the airport. He ended up arriving about three hours late. The ballroom was packed and everyone waited. When he got to the podium the
first thing he did was reach out and wipe out all the microphones. The sound person put the PA mic back. I had a press pass and was the only person patched into the board. After the show he went to the room that was rented for him at the Holiday Inn
with a friend of mine and as the story goes, they destroyed the room. I know this isn't music/music related, but thought it was interesting enough to share.

A very wise man. If he were today I'm sure he'd have quite a colorful opinion on the state of politics and social issues. Maybe just the attitude that is needed in the modern day . RIP Hunter.

I would love to hear hunter s. Thompson's take on the current political situation... Trump, the qanon, Biden. To bad to lost him in 2005, drugs and alcohol due take a toll... they were his success and demise

@@timscimeca978 his literary style was peppered with biblical references and prophetic rhetoric. he may have not been religious, but I wouldn't say he was anti-religion. he'd appreciate the sentiment.

Same, but he couldn't live in today's world. It'd be torture to him. Hell it is to me. He lived and died the way he wanted. He was miserable and ready to leave. RIP
