HUNT/PREPARE/COOK WILD RABBIT. Caution HEADSHOTS. How to zero your scope. CZ THUMBHOLE 22 MOA EP6S2
My ultimate hunting NZ wild game meat, Rabbit. Often forgotten and one of the best ways to feed the family. Caution meat comes from animals, HEADSHOTS are shown
Rabbit meat tastes like wild chicken and there is no shortage of opportunities to hunt wild rabbits in New Zealand
If I had to pick only one meat as the most versatile game meat, wild rabbit every time.
In this episode we go rabbit hunting, caution HEADSHOTS. I show you how I skin and prepare rabbits cleanly in 45 seconds.
2 incredible rabbit recipes and cook out in the field.
My how to Zero a scope in the field, using little ammo.
I also highlight my kit- CZ thumbhole 22lr and Meopta Scope with my drop chart (MOA) using Winchester sub-sonics 40 gram.
If you are keen on this kit and live in NZ, drop me a message and I'll see what deals are around.
Back when I started hunting in NZ, we all started with wild rabbit hunting but these days rabbit hunting is often forgotten or skipped.
Rabbit meat is not just incredible meat but one of the greatest ways to sharpen your shooting/hunting skills as you snipper them.
Increases shooting abilities every your field butchery skills.
If you can't tell by now "I love Rabbit hunting"
Thanks you much for watching, you rock!!!!

I just had to restore and zero my rifle scope on my .22 today. Used a pretty similar method. White target, aim, shoot. Measure distance of POI compared to aiming location. Adjust windage and elevation, repeat. No bipod, i didnt look through the scope as i adjusted. Just used 1/4 moa = 1/16th of an inch at 25 yards.

Wow thanks so much. You really hit the nail on the head, the passion and respect I have for every life I take to feed my family is everything. At home we only eat wild game and grow our own vegetables. Life is so awesome, thanks for watching
Excellent video. I am in the UK and I run a CZ 452 American with Winchester subs, with a Falcon Optics M18 4-18x44FFP on top. As long as the wind isn't blowing it is staggeringly accurate out to silly ranges, and very quiet when moderated. My daughter and I love rabbit and we eat it often (she is a great shot) but the only down side is when I do clearance shooting on land that has been left too long. Cleaning 100+ carcasses after a night session gets old... Now that winter is approaching I am going to switch to my ATN X-Sight for night vision shooting, coupled with a thermal spotter. Very, very effective. I use Meopta on my .270 for deer, and on my 5.56/.223 👍🏻

It's soooooo good and way under rated in NZ
Great content bud, just found your channel and subbed. I always piss the rabbits to empty the bladder before skinning and paunching. All the best from Scotland.

Thanks for checking out the vid. Check out our instagram "wild eats nz" heaps of our recipes on there. 80% of the time I cook with cast-iron pans and pots, the heavier the better. A $500 pot might seem crazy but it will be with you for life and the next generation. Great point about when it's save to eat, lumps of the liver is what I look for, wish I included it in the episode. One out of 500+ rabbits may not look normal (in my case) there's so much focus on what wild game is safe to eat. I'm more worried about what shit humans pump into our supermarket meat and how that animal was treated. Thanks again, you rock!
Brilliant. Thank you 😁👍

Ripper mate. You know I love shooting rabbits. I gut first, then skin though. Slice up the belly then grab the back legs in one hand and the front in the other and give a good flick. 3 secs tops, and clean hands. NICE MATE.

Have eaten thousands and never had a problem but good point. Guess it comes down to the hunting doing their own research and knowing the farmers and asking if poison used. Thanks for watching

@@JUSTWILDNZ I like rabbits and they taste delicious and provide a good source of protein especially if one looks at the commercial general meat prices. The poison used is generally blood thinner in high doses, I do not know if they use also baits with 1080. When I hunt I use 17 HMR and head shots, its just a bit loud.

@@axelpuhl6221 it's so cool to hear about others that just love rabbit meat as much as we do. Just brought home 100kg of Wapiti meat, one of the first things my wife said to me was " we are out of rabbit meat" 😄 love it
