Absolutely right!. We constantly have to remind ourselves why we’re out there and what we want to accomplish in the process. Great tip!

Here is the other thing hot sports are seasonal often for a week or two in your area and you then have to estimate when that time will be with some years all hotspots you have in data are only on one week. The other is that hunting only hot spots can for some get repetitive.

Good points. And everything can change year to year with mast, crops, cover, logging etc.

Your Right ! Find a hot spot , hunt it and move on to another crossroad 👍🤩 I like to have many ambush spots on every public wildlife area

Ok, after gun season, I have a hard time seeing deer. I hunt all public they range in size between 80 acres to 300 acres. The habit is marsh slash woods I live near Milwaukee wisconsin. Here's my question: Do you think i would be better off doing spot and stalk? I am not a trophy hunter if its brown its down.

I would say yes and no. Still hunting will let you get into deer and see where they are hanging out, eating etc. Once you find that you can try stalking them or now that you know where they are set up a stand. Both are great options.

Great point I’ve been thinking about. I would love to say I’ve killed deer at multiple places on purpose over my lifetime. I see the value in hotspots for getting your kid interested just like you mentioned.

Yep the downside to hot spots is they slow us down and make us stagnant. They are great for filling the freezer and taking friends and family. But never stop looking for new ones

Yep and for me the thrill of the hunt is finding the hot spots. Once I find one and prove it's an amazing spot. The job is done and time to find the next one. Doesn't mean I won't go back to it once in a while but I love the thrill of finding new ones

Will be looking forward to see this one. I bought the Millineum Tree seat last year and love it. Most comfortable seat ever. Quit and can set up at different heights. The Pack seat would have its advantages.

For me the thrill is finding the hot spots and the skill development in woodsmanship I learn when I find them. I understand for many its about killing animals. And I obviously love to eat venison too. But once I find a hot spot and prove it's a hot spot I want to go find the next one. Doesn't mean I won't ever come back to it once in a while, but the thrill of the chase for me is the ability to pick a tree that is in the sweet spot that gets hammered. Then I want to go find another one

@@SamkoTradBow I try to find two or three new hot spots a year but I think starting the year fresh will help develop my skills and in the big woods you and go a mile before you find good deer sign so it's hard not to go to proven spots

It's getting harder each year to move around on Public unless In a National Forest. The "Hot Spots" I do have and Hunt, I try to hunt them different ways..Last year I hunted from the Ground, First time in Ages.

I agree with you totally. The purpose of hot spots is to create more of the critters I want to hunt. If I hunted repeatedly in a hot spot it would no longer be a hot spot cuz I would've driven them out. I kindof treat it like it's their little sanctuary and they can have that place to themselves undisturbed. Outside that, it's game on though. I'm always surprised though how many hunters aren't even aware there is a hot spot in the area but I guess they don't get off their ATVs much...
