Maybe the mother decided to give birth there?? The mother can take care of her puppies. She doesn't need a human to do what nature takes care of.

Since hardwood floors are man made, giving the puppies a helping hand against the slippery hardwood is only the best and right thing to do. Animals in the wild rarely delve into the world of carpentry. It's not their thing.

If this were my pet/dog she'd damn sure be on something soft,a blanket. Sure,dogs in the wild dont lie on blankets-but this aint the wild. Floor cold as well. Hope she is fed plentiful

Poor little things are blind for the first week or so. This was a 5 minute video, I bet they all found a nipple after 10-15 minutes. But they do need a blanket!

My neighbor made a birthing box for her dog who was going to have babies. They were putting blankets and other things inside the box And the momma gave birth in a complete different place. They moved the puppies to the box and the momma moved them out. I think my neighbor finally got the idea to just leave the momma alone and let her do her thing with her babies.

She’s breathing hard because she is still having contractions and most likely has 1 more in her to give birth. Panting is the first sign of labor and is normal. I’m just glad they are letting the puppies take their time to latch on naturally on their own. There did this for thousands of years. I’m sure they don’t need peoples help during birth….

The floor is making them slide so they do need the blanket
