To be honest, England were pretty poor in that tournament, the draw with Ireland and the win against Egypt were as dull as you can get, though they played well and were unlucky only to draw v Holland. The Platt goal v Belgium disguised another poor performance with Belgium being the better side on the night. Cameroon played England off the park and it took two dives from Lineker to get us through. Then-irony of ironies, England played Germany off the park and were desperately unlucky to go out-but maybe that's where our luck evened out. or ran out. We weren't that great-but then no one really was in that WC ; probably the worst one there's been

You were a great player Flori, but you could have done much better, to be much bigger.. You can't/couldn't be an idol of any young player.
