Hung Gar Application Concepts 5 Kiu Sao & Grips Misc

Спорт

I decided to do some more detailed work explaning how Hung Kyun can adapt and apply. If you like it great! If not, well you can't please everyone. I know what works for me and I've got the experience to make it work.
Nobody else from the Hung Gar community has realy come forth and given out this type of information yet. Mostly it's been, forms or foundation training. Why? Because in truth, most of the schools I see out there DO NOT know how to apply their bridging concepts on NON traditional people. So they end up training forms but fighting like Kick Boxers. This is a shame in my opinion.

Yes, Lam Kwong Wing is my Sifu, I was an instructor at his school for many years...we follow Chiu Wai Si Gung mostly. I see on your page you have allot of Chiu Chi Ling videos...I call him Si Sook Gung. I used to see him occassionally in Oakland area or S.F. during Chinese New Years mostly or sometimes he'd stop by the kwoon. Respect.

I gotta say that I like this one a lot. Some good stuff in there, but, as you said, you saved the best for yourself. :)

That arm grab into take down at 4:17 looks like a good application of that weird movement at the beginning of Mui Fa Kuen right after the first punch huh.

Yeah pretty smart of you... it can be done that way. But it's better to have some sort of hand control before you do it. If you look at most common Mui Fah versions, the move you're talking about is either a definite "Bong Sao" type block or it's kinda like the right hand is scooping up. When your hand is scooping up like that it's a different kind of energy. That would be more useful for other reasons. Like if they grabbed your right punch and you're using the scooping right hand to change you're power and remove his grip. Just one example. :)

my Instructor's the same way. We've easily had classes that would last 4 hours or more going back and forth on issues.

Thanks and to be truthful however, i'm pretty passionate about teaching...so usually when people are kind enough to envite me into their schools for a seminar, there is very little I hold back. It's almost like I can't stop myself once the ball starts rolling.
