In our recent visit to Hong Kong we helped to record the last days of our aunt and uncle’s tea shop.
鴻昌泰 - Hung Chong Tai Tea Merchant is a historical tea shop located on Boham Strand, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong selling various types of traditional chinese tea for at least 60 years over 2 generations. Also specialising in pu’er tea.
To our aunt and uncle, Hung Chong Tai is their second home; place where they laughed and cried together. Before the retirement they invited us to capture its final moments, and we would like to share this journey with you. The teashop has now been taken over by new owners, but the memory and tea flavours will live on.

*for foreign exports, the tea leaves had to be packed differently for oversea shipment, while receiving the money was slower due to wire transfers.
