My heart and prayers go out to everyone experiencing a negative impact from covid! I had back in late July and I’m still experiencing negative debilitating symptoms. I suffer with insomnia now, depression, anxiety, and my body literally just feels weaker by the day. I feel like I’m living a nightmare everyday. It has affected my work/social life so much. It saddens me because before I got this virus I was such an active positive person who loved life and now it’s such a struggle to get out of bed. I hope Drs can find ways to help long haulers. Just know if you’re reading this you’re not alone. My prayers will be with everyone 🙏🏼

Long hauler here. I had a mild case of covid but experienced swollen, painful hands and debilitating fatigue which made it very difficult to work and I lost my job. I'm in my fifth month now and things are beginning to get better. I'm not able to work yet, but everyday activities are easier. My advice to everyone with this condition is to listen to your body and rest when you need to. And be sure to eat, even if you don't feel like it.

Seeing the support in the comments make me feel less alone. I had Covid the first week of January 2022 (Omicron variant) and I still haven’t fully recovered. The absolutely debilitating exhaustion, lack of energy, sore muscles, forgetfulness, brain fog, I feel useless. I can only do 1-2 things max each day. If I go to the grocery store, I need to rest the rest of the day from exhaustion. If I go to the doctor’s office, I need time to nap afterwards before I can start to function again. I first noticed my symptoms only the week after I got my negative test. I started full on fainting nonstop. I would pass out, lights out so often that I’m still scared to exert myself too much and risk injuring myself. I’m currently being seen by a neurologist and a cardiologist. The neurologist believes that I’ve developed narcolepsy or a seizure disorder. The cardiologist is waiting for those to be ruled out, and if they are, she’s ready to smack me with a POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) diagnosis. Either way, seven months later, no answers. Just have to try to keep on keeping on while I forget why I walked into a certain room or why I’m holding phone because I forgot who I was supposed to call. Just remember that all of our fellow sufferers are our best resource. We can share our mutual tips and tricks of what’s been helping, what symptoms have changed, what symptoms we started with, common symptoms we have now, places in our communities who will help us, etc. We understand each other in a way that a doctor who only analyzes data will never be able to. I hope we all start to get some answers and we can lean on each other for support. We got this!

Don't blame yourself...it's not your fault that you were lied to and fooled. Please put yourself first and be gentle.... Last thing you want is exertion to the point of hospitalization. Don't go there if you can absolutely help it. Please eat vitamins like there's no tomorrow and get as much sunshine as your body will allow. Avoid alcohol. Be your own coach.... believe fully in your mind that you WILL beat this and start feeling better. You won't ever feel 100% again (I'm sorry to say..) BUT YOU CAN HEAL ENOUGH TO HAVE A LIFE AGAIN. Try not to be afraid and fear the worst scenarios. What you think about is what you give power to..... BELIEVE WHOLEHEARTEDLY THAT YOU WILL GET YOURSELF BACK. Fight for YOU. Don't let them win..... It may have been coincidence, but I noticed improvements. The vaccines seemed to have helped some long haulers systems reset and settled their immune system response which alleviated some of their symptoms. I've had many medical issues since having Covid. I thought I had cancer. I thought I was going to die. I described it as.. I'm on death row. I remember getting sick twice and then started feeling sickly before I even knew COVID existed. It was extremely awful and now it's alot better than it was. Some days I feel sickly exhausted and some days I'm ok. The only thing that helps are vitamins and rest but at first all the rest in the world didn't make me feel better. And putting my head down helps. Doing normal things wear my butt out. I work but I'm barely sliding in thru the week. I've had mental breakdowns because of feeling so bad but having to continue on. I use to love walking for exercise but now no way that would kill me. It feels like being sickly exhausted and having a fever but I really don't have a fever. I hope it continues to get better. It was really bad but it has gotten better so hang in there y'all. Make sure you rest and take your vitamins ❤️

My chest feels tight sometimes and when that happens at night, I feel pressure all over my body, I'm feel like I'm gonna pop like a balloon, so I quickly sit up and beat my chest a bit until the feeling goes away. I haven't been sleeping well either.... I sometimes cry for no reason. I do work, but it's so hard to concentrate. I'm exhausted by the end of the week...and wonder how long i can continue pretending that I'm okay.

It’s a very slow process, but you have to replenish everything you lost fighting COVID. Drink lots of water, eat lots of protein, take all your vitamins and continue to rest. If you’ve been seen and tested and they’ve ruled out any other conditions, Dr’s won’t give you answers on post-viral care because they’ve got none. It’s all up to the body to repair at this point and it can take a very long time as long as you give it what it needs and watch for deficiencies.

Felt crummy for about a day, then fine. Same for every family member, friend, and co-worker I know. Effectiveness has been mixed honestly. Fortunately no deaths of hospitalizations, but infections have still happened. So the vaccines are not perfect, and my take is you should be sure to still use common sense, exercise, eat well, stay home if you are sick, practice good hygiene, and yes even use a proper mask when appropriate. Vaccines, healthy practices, and treatments (of which they continue to improve upon) for when the first two fail is the tried and true methodology for beating all disease, and this is no different.

Tried getting the vaccine last year because they (the doctors) believed it would “cure” me, since some people came out and said their symptoms went away..1st vaccine ended up in the ER with inflammation in my brain, sounded like I was having a stroke, then I switched Drs and the specialists I’m seeing have given me a medical note to not get the second vaccine since they don’t know what would happen to me.

The symptoms of long covid are very similar to those of myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome. Imagine if the long covid doctors piggy-backed on the extensive research already done. It would benefit hundreds of thousands of long covid patients as well as the 2.5 million ME/CFS patients in the US.

I cant focus very well,..and othe things. I still at times have problems tasting my food. These things ease up occasionally, and I think it's all over. Then it all comes back with a vengeance. I have to use a walker now as I have no balance and my knees just give out and I wind up on the floor. I hope it will end soon, but my Doctor said some symptoms may last for the rest of my life. Yes long Covid is awful. I am going through hell as well. My symptom is severe insomnia. Before contracting covid I was always excellent sleep and never really had difficulties falling asleep. Immediately after Covid within the first week I started experiencing severe insomnia, a total inability to fall asleep within a timely fashion. It is like that mechanism that allows us to fall asleep (not stay a sleep) has been switched off by Covid. I just wonder if nerve damage or blood clots play a role here. Who knows? Now I lie awake from 11pm to around 3-4am and sometimes 5 am. I often end up taking 2-3 sleeping pills just so I can function the next day and get a few hours of sleep in the morning before I wake up at 8am.

Long covid is an autoimmune response. For me, the third dose of Moderna stopped the sinusitus, conjunctivitus. Rest is best for the fatigue. Drink lots of tap water. I take aspirin to stop the microclotting. Magnesium taureate helped the high blood pressure, the virus gets into the thyroid, which caused arrthymia, you have to support the thyroid with thiamine and potassium iodide supplements. It also gets into the heart muscle. I eat beetroot to help nitrous oxide in my blood, you have to re learn to breathe through the nostrils to conserve nitrous oxide and re learn to breathe through the diaphragm. The body exhausts all its store of essential vitamins and minerals fighting covid. You have to absorb a fresh supply. Your mitochondria is also damaged. I'm not a doctor, this is my personal experiences, dont do it without consulting your doctor first. Hope it helps, good luck from Australia.
