Hi there , i am wondering what was the problem ! ? Your camera is trying to capture what kind of problems ? Is it related to noisy Differential bushings or the Transmission bushings ? Thanks .

so....let me ask you this...does it feel like it clunks into gear when transmission is shifting while hitting the gas because the mount is loose? like first to second?

Daniel Garcia You cannot buy the OEM bushing only, you have to buy the whole crossmember. You have 3 options. 1. buy a new crossmember from a gm supplier. 2. purchase a DIY kit with aftermarket upgraded delrin bushings from outfitter designs. (this comes with axle end bushings as well. 3. have scorpworks (if you google it the first couple of links should help) rebuild it for you through their core system.

I went with outfitter designs bushing kit. they make solid h3 part. just Google them. the kit comes with bushings and sleeves for the crossmember and the 2 axle end bushings. you burn/press/cut out the old one.

Ohh.. my bad I didn’t xplain correctly cuz i know about the clicking noise in the engine.. this is a clunk that makes when i have speed and i let off the gas and i press it down to continue.. that’s when it makes the sound you can feel underneath the front seats you know.. i was thinking the driveshaft maybe 🤔

Oh ok i see. it could be this, or the side differential mounting Bushing also. That noise could also be a body mount bushing or another bushing in the front suspension that is causing the clunk. With these vehicles being 10 years old at a minimum I would wager that a large number of the bushings probably need replacing.

I’ve got a clunking coming from the front end. Mainly on gravel roads. I can feel it in the gas and break pedals. Any ideas as to what it could be? Thanks. ‘08 H3 Base 3.7L

If it's a clunk and feeling when your going over bumps and what not I'd say it's more like something in your suspension. A loose shock, sway bar end link, bad bushing. The issue isn't he video is predominatly heard when stepping on the gas and or releasing the gas. Not so much a continual clunk from going over bumps/terrain.

@@gearyheads2739 Thanks. I’ve checked as much as I can without a lift and all I’ve found is a tie rod that might be going bad. I’ll keep looking✌🏻

did it fix the problem mine just started after a weekend of off roading?

Replacing the bushing did, however my pinion bearing was already shot, which the newbushing made apparent, once i rebuilt my diff and replaced all 3 bushings, it was much better.

So mine is making a "clicking" sound when I let off the gas. I'll be at speed and just let off and hear it...amy thoughts?

Mike Combs could be the front driveshaft. Either the u joints or the cv at the transfer case end, they are prone to going bad.

connor geary I keep getting the reply of the cv or the u joint...can you give me an idea of were that is...im new to hummer

Mike Combs if you crawl underneath, find the front driveshaft. Follow it rearward and your see a rubber boot. That is the CV part of the front driveshaft.

Hey how are you.. my hummer it’s making a clicking noise when i let go of the gas pedal and press again to continue .. that could be the problem.??

Hi, no that sounds more like valve lifters and springs in the engine. The problem in the video is more of a clunk and doesnt continually happen. It happens when you push the pedal down and hold it will clunk. A continual clicking is more likely to be engine valve lifters and springs, exhaust heat shield rubbing or an exhaust leak. Hope that helps!

gonzosc1 65-68k somewhere in there lol yea GM only sells the whole thing I think. Some people have found replacement rubber bushings, however I went with outfitter designs bushings kit( Google the name and they'll pop up) Perfererred chassis fabrication also has a core program, you can find them on h40.

cool. I.m researching for my first 4x4. looking at the H3, jeep unlimited, Toyota fj cruiser, and Toyota 4 runner. just trying to get a sense of repairs and mileage maintenance that each would need before I buy.

Is this movement of the bushing normal? Or is it showing that the bushing is damaged?

  • @gearyheads2739

hummer guy The up and down movement is normal, just the way Gm designed it, unfortunately that movement can lead to pre-mature breakage. My bushing was damaged/torn so i am not sure if an intact one will let it move that much

NotsoJoe Rogan lol it's the front crossmember that the front differential in a hummer h3 is mounted to. This is what is looks like when the bushing is bad and allows for movement up and down as you step on and off the gas

Ok... I had same issue with my H3 2006... Simple fix, You can get a brand new crossmember on eBay for about $300. Simple to replace if your good with a wrench! No special tools needed. You can also get the bushing itself but major ordeal to remove the old one and the crossmember must still be removed to change it! So... If you can afford a Hummer H3... Be smart spend the money for a new member and be done with it!!!!
