The drag due to wind eliminates not in a loop because the drag is non linear! This applies also to velocity differences. If you go faster to compensate for a lower speed in order to keep a certain average speed it will not work that way. Because of the non linearity!! Keep that in mind!

While I love my F150 Lightning there are some things I'd like to see. One would also be handy on a Rivian or even a Hummer EV, the "eco" mode option that would say switch to 2-wheel drive instead of all 4 (so, in Ford's case only powering 1 motor instead of 2), but it could use the non-propelling motor to regenerate while braking. I think that could really extend range in situations when one isn't towing/hauling or driving for sport performance or off-roading.

@@tdpiersonavoca I don’t see why they would only be limited to the new L3 chargers but fair enough. I’ve learned as an EV and petrol household for the last half decade to use them based on their strengths. And for roadtrips, petrol is just a lot better, even with the supercharger network. I’m hoping for a major battery technology breakthrough, we need one for BEV’s to achieve their potential.

In the UK Instavolt uses the same chargers. Even those rated for 50kw rarely reach their potential. The 350s are much better but the 50 and 150s aren’t great. We have to pay 79p per kW for the privilege of using them, meaning that even a small battery will cost as much as an ICE for a full charge.

Why don't you take the bumpers off as well, I mean, you don't REALLY need them, unless something happens... It really makes sense to drive the car as it comes from the factory. Many new cars DON'T have a spare out the dealership, and if that is the case, then NP, but I would normally drive with a spare, it just makes logical sense.

Would hate to be 18th in line. The vehicle and batteries are new. Your performance will only go down from here. Batteries don't last forever and degrade slowly at first, then more rapidly ten years from now. Will cost a fortune to replace those batteries. This is no way a cost effective and practical vehicle. Just a rich mans toy.

Top Speed is 105MPH. Which is incredibly low, even for such a large vehicle. I mean at least make it 120MPH so that your highway cruising speed of 80-85MPH isn't nearly maxing out your over priced EUV. I heard the top speed is set so low because of the tremendous 9,000 lbs. weight and limiting the speed to prevent tire blow out. So perhaps with better tire compound that can increase? I am sure it has the capability to go faster. Just a matter of software update or a hack.

Most vehicles have a speed governor set to whatever the factory tires speed ratings are. Off road and/or truck tires typically don't have high speed ratings. Most trucks I have driven have all had governors that limit top speed somewhere around 85-95 MPH depending on tires. My Duramax (Silverado 2500) governor was factory set at 95MPH and my Chevy Kodiak 5500 was factory set to 85 MPH. My Jeep Grand Cherokee (5.7L Hemi V8) was limited to 106 MPH if I recall.
