4:55 - One of the silliest things to me is that the Hummer EV *can't tow another Hummer EV*. The tow capacity of the Hummer is less than its weight. A Rivian could tow it, though.

That's hilarious.

The fact is There is not a single competitor of the Hummer Ev by the looks, power, function. It's a truck yet doesn't look like one. It's a fast charging Ev. You can remove the top like the bronco. Longer miles in ev. Giant car in the industry. Most badass car ever. Pity I can't even buy one cz no one is selling. 😭

People can say what they will about the HUMMER EV's absurdity and excess, but it is an aspirational model that's going to draw a lot of people to EVs in general.

My hummer EV is my first EV and it is the best all round vehicle I’ve owned. I never thought I’d say that but it is incredible. It is an amazing vehicle and I’ve owned it for several months. Plus, I’m not a truck guy at all.

Crazy world we live in, where a truck with 800+ hp is the sensible choice...

The Hummer makes the Rivian look like a Maverick

It helps play up the size difference when you raise the Hummer as high as possible and lower the Rivian all the way down. For sure the Hummer is bigger but they play it up for the the laughs here.

plenty smart buyers have gotten written agreements before getting their Trucks and got them at MSRP. There is even a Dealership that explicitly advertises them at MSRP.

why does the Hummer EV look like a badass truck that you would want to drive nonstop?

It’s been 12 days since I got that confirm configuration from Rivian and I couldn’t be more stoked about it finally being built.

The Hummer is so heavy, there are literally streets it can’t legally go down! Obviously, this isn’t a daily driver. This is a toy for those with a lot of money. I will say this much, however: it has a 231 kWh battery. Assuming this has bi-directional charging, you could power the average house for two full weeks during a power outage, especially if you don’t try to power big items like the electric oven, clothes dryer, etc. That is a cool idea.

Pavement Princess 4x4 - a sticker should be put on the truck for most of the Rivian owners that just want to sit pretty with it

The Hummer is the most fun, insane and cool EV out there right now. And it’s not ugly AF like the Cybertruck, and faster too (until the tri motor variant comes out). If you want a truck for a truck then there’s countless ‘sensible’ options, but for a lifestyle high end truck with endless cool and absurdity, the Hummer is the one by a long way. I picked one up, and don’t plan to use it that much for towing or off road, it’s just a huge amount of fun for cruising around south FL with a lot of spare capacity for whenever I need it.

Being from Germany I really wonder who would buy an Hummer EV...

I love both of these trucks…. And I would drive both. But I would get the Hummer simply because, its not a daily driver. Lol let me explain. The truck I have now is not my daily driver. Its my Malibu or my Impala. So it would be a nice addition to the family for me. I’ve never viewed trucks more as something I need to haul things or take road trips with just because I’m 5,3. I don’t like being in a vehicle off the ground like that all day. I have to get in and out of it and it’s annoying as hell for me. I would let that sit and be pretty and when I need it or simply wanna have fun, I would bring it out.

Need more spec comparisons, as in what you get from one to the other . More of a break down would be nice

It occurs to me that at least in some states, there are laws regarding the height of the rear bumper specifically to prevent a smaller vehicle ending up underneath yours in a rear-end collision. Fully lifted the Hummer EV's bumper has got to be 40+ inches off the pavement - would that technically be illegal in some areas?

I believe Kyle has it in Extract Mode, which isn't meant for road use. In fact, the HUMMER EV's speed in Extract Mode is limited to 12 mph.

@@Smidge204 Yes it's only available in that mode. It maxes out the suspension so when you're in extract mode the ride is very rough. Not an issue at 12 mph when you're trying to clear something.

Spot on except for one issue, the Hummer with its 4 wheel steering is easier to park and navigate in tight spaces than the Rivian. The 4 wheel steering has changed my world. It parks and maneuvers better than a Nissan Sentra

Personally I would take the Rivian over the hummer any day. I don't care to find parking spots big enough to fit a tank, plus my HOA would most likely go WHOA

Rivian is by far the better daily, but the Hummer EV is comical.

First of all, seeing these two EV trucks reminds me that the arrival of the Tesla Cyber truck, if and when it finally appears, will be anti-climactic. The Rivian and Hummer are entertaining from a showcase perspective, however, I'm much more interested in truck/SUV versions closer to mainstream....like the Lightning. Would love to see a cheaper two-motor Rivian, an EV version of the Maverick and an EV/US version of the Suzuki Jimny.

It would be fun to watch 9000 pounds HUMMER EV perform on the ice.

Given the Hummer is basically a test bed for Silverado and Sierrra EVs the Hummer makes a lot of sense.

Hummer EV is the first Monster Truck EV! And once again....10 minutes at a self service car wash before making a video so they don't look filthy? 🤷🏻‍♂🤷🏻‍♂🤦🏻‍♂🤦🏻‍♂Cars on your videos are always filthy inside and out. Just like your now famous front yard. With Thanksgiving tomorrow I think of Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. And then I see this and you and think of Pigpen. 🤔🤔😂😂

If you wanted to do an honest comparison for the viewers why did you slam the Rivians suspension and put the Hummer as high as it could go. Personally I found that annoying in a comparison video because I can't make a good comparison visually. Were you trying to make the Hummer look better than the Rivian because slamming the Rivian next to the Hummer certainly had that effect.

Crazy stuff. The Hummer is a fashion statement for the unfashionable. Rivian is beyond cool, even non-truck people can't help but like it. The Hummer invites madness and is sure to cause tragedy, as in a Hummer hitting a Toyota Prias.

Hilarious juxtaposition.

The Hummer EV remains a display of wretched excess. We won't make it to sustainability with 9000 pound EVs.

@@dblock8829 Probably not on the average carbon intensity of the US grid and given the 3x mineral weight/inputs. Solar panels on your roof used for charging would make it much better but the bottom line is that we need to downsize.

What a stupid car. Only in America could you take an eco-friendly thing and turn it into the opposite. So many resources wasted for this car...

Both these cars are competing in the worlds most ugliest car awards. Even a Prius looks better 😬

Looks like they just slammed a body on a truck. And get rid of all the designers. It would have been cool 20 years ago. But it makes no sense, if you live outside the states. No matter how hardcore you are, people will laugh when the see it outside the states. Kind og like a electric harley.. is there that many fat men that rides a bike in 2022, so it makes sense to put it in production
