Yes that is a valid point, knowing how to install a rivet properly is very important as a lot of damage can be done by misuse of the usually pneumatic hammer and anvil tools. I work for Boeing aircraft for a number of years and the slightest lack of focus can damag a whole part, and you're back to square one so give yourself time to learn how to use these tools, I would also recommend spring stops for your drill bits and it would probably be a good idea to offer some instruction on how to properly deburr because too much deburr can also damage your part. I know it would take a lot of work but I would love videos like this for all of the major connections and assemblies. if there are multiple of the same thing maybe only show it once but it would be nice to see it from unboxing to built.

This is really excellent explanation. While I will not build a hummel, I might well buy one, and I suggest that anyone who wants to buy one.. study these videos so they understand the construction very well, in order to be able to judge the quality of an already built hummel before buying it . I am always surprised that builder do not chromate thier parts before assembly.. although I can see that would complicate and lengthen the build quite a bit. I do not know if it would interfere with assembly ...

I'm confused. You are working with pre-drilled kit pieces but then say the holes need to be drilled. To clarify, none of these pieces come with any drilled holes, correct?

No faying surface sealant used?

Wouldn't solid rivets not only be stronger, but lighter as well?

Question, how much does that center assembly weigh? (and for that matter how much does the center spar weigh?)
