Humans Crash On A World Where It's Never Night Until A Eclipse Brings Out Dangerous Creatures

Фильм және анимация

The crew and the passengers of the transport vessel Hunter-Gratzner get stranded on a planet that never goes dark because of its three suns. They soon discover that the planet is inhabited by ravenous creatures that can only survive in the dark. They assume they're safe as long as they stay in daylight, but an eclipse occurs and plunges the planet into total darkness. Their only hope of escaping may lie with a dangerous convict named Richard Riddick.

Naturally, evolution would permit creatures who are able to travel long distances quickly to hunt for food and then rapidly return to their subterranean caverns. I imagine there could have been a few generations of really fast sprinting monsters, however the scorching 3 suns probably canceled out their evolution fairly quickly. Flying is faster and more efficient than sprinting, The initial climb is calorically taxing, however being able to use gravity/air currents and glide long distances saves a lot more energy and time.

This movie was a great example of a science fiction action flick, and deserves a place up there with other classic actions and science fictions. Gun fights, macho attitudes, butting heads, the occasional big boom or two, with an iconic leading man. A while bunch of surface things that make Die Hard so attractive and capable of having meat to it. Space travel, foreign alien worlds, limited resources, hostile native threat. I'd say this deserves a spot next to the Aliens franchise Even though so much of the movie takes place outside, it's the middle of the desert where's there's no place to really hide, and the scenes in darkness cause the party to huddle up and stay together, giving the same effect of close-quarters horror and tension without actually being in close-quarters. It's just brilliantly done and I could gush about this movie forever.

Pitch Black was cheesy as hell but holy shit, did it have THE BEST cinematography in the first half of the movie I think I've ever seen. The multiple suns casting the most bizarre light patterns and the coolest color changing I've ever seen in any movie. The suns were different colors and changed the background, overbearing lighting in every scene. I saw this in the theaters and it was something incredible to behold. The audience collectively gasped when the the planet crossed in front of all the suns and darkness started coming. Absolutely sublime. The acting was passable and the anti-hero Riddick makes his first movie appearance but this film was in a class of its own for the camera work and special effects alone.

Fr I miss movies with that feeling. Idk how but everything produced nowadays feels so artificial to me and nothing beats the classic movie plots and storytelling. I think that's a major reason movies feel artificial today, it's like they're recycling the same plots and characters but without the emotions involved. Or maybe I just grew up and I see movies as they are, to produce money for the people behind the movie. Before I thought they were magical in the same sort of way a book can transport you into the author's imagination but now it's not even about the creativity anymore, it really just feels like it's about the money.

"They say most of your brain shuts down in hypersleep, all but the primitive side, the animal side..... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... No wonder I'm still awake!" This move has one of the best scripts ever written by one brilliant guy named David Twohy. Pitch black makes it to my list as one of the best sci-fi movies ever made along with alien....in the top 5.

*story recapped* , thank you for your uploads , your recaps _rule_ ! could you recap the survivalist type post-apocalyptic movie called *"gold"* 2022 .... zac efron (who i was never able to take seriously til i saw him acting in the role of ted bundy), and that amazing aussie actress, susie porter, are in it. and a load of dingos, and a large chunk of gold am guessing from the trailer.

If the fast and furious franchise subtly morphed into chronicles of Riddick that would be beyond legendary. Watching Dom turn into Riddick after chasing some terrorism causing Mcguffin into space would needs to be a graphic novel yesterday.
