There was a hypothetical space suit concept made in England in the 1950's, it had a beaked helmet and heat reflecting cloak.

Why does guy have such incredible, discussion laden videos of high concept yet have such comparably little views and subscribers? I’m confused, honestly!

There are hundreds of channels like this. There’s a massive profit difference to KZread when the algorithm pushes multiple and rapidly uploading short low quality videos. Most people prefer those and it takes in more AD rev.

Because they don't have flashy editing and they're very rambly. The kind of videos of this genre that do well invariably have flashy editing and tight focus.

Blending genres and settings seems so fun to me. It is a surefire way to peak my interest. I would love more high fantasy space travel in my media.

Was surprised, but very happy to see a new episode in this series. As always, very interesting to hear your take on these "classes". Considering the amount of skills involved in each of these areas, having each person at your table play as some sort of corporation/organisation would actually work well. Considering the subject matter, the game Aurora 4X has various detailed areas regarding things like ship construction, and terraforming.

I played a firbolg in d&d once and he was essentially a xenologist for giants. The GM and I talked and he basically said “you can know whatever you want about giants, it’ll just be a low DC intelligence check to recall certain information. That was a fun character

Very interesting stuff. I could only imagine that in some sci-fi scenario there’s a world that used to be human-based terraforming but some humans decided to destroy the landscape for their use. Sending the entirety of the planet into a climate and pollution disaster for personal economic gains... wait a minute... On other terms, the way of describing humans as habitat builders is really an interesting perspective. Building advanced caves that have plumbing and artificial sunlight. No to mention the fact that we have mass worldwide communication in small devices that fit in our pocket. Humans spending hundreds of years to breed more useful crops or better animal companions. Imagine a time where humans genetically modify or breed something to such an extent that an entire town of people could be fed by only one or two individual crops. Maybe some massive vegetable that’s engineered to be nutritious and tasty, but can also hold its weight because of its size. So cool. Have a good one.

Watching this and the latest Knowing Better video on the Genocide of the American Indians, got me thinking about a Campaign designed around a Star Trek style Exploration/Preservation Quest with a crew of Undead Xenologers led by a Necromancer whose goal is the preservation/resurrection of extinct civilizations. I'm imagining the players are each playing long dead and powerful figures in their society, like a Monteczuma; or imagine a Thomas Sankara-style revolutionary betrayed by his closest allies. Sessions might start with the Crew waking from a deathly stasis when they're nearing a new planet, they use magic to survey the planet, halo jump from high orbit, land and explore, observe the local population by night, translate texts, find forgotten tombs to procure new crewmates, maybe stop a genocide or prevent the total destruction of a culture by yoinking the artifacts before they're pillaged and reanimating preservers of the culture to join them. I feel like that would be an amazing campaign both to run and to play.
