    This is a great move. Unless it's used against you, because it can hurt like hell. Once you experience the impact of an attack it makes you appreciate it more. Even though you won't feel like that at first lol

    Leg sweeps are always hard, even for more experienced fighters. I've seen my instructor struggle with them, but he's taught us this one and its easier to pull off than other leg sweeps, but it needs perfect timing, and I'm still getting the hang of it. I'm still a beginner by many standards, but at least I can hold my own. Timing...the timing is everything. But Savate is honestly extremely interesting to study! I hope I improve in time.

    Learning this effective takedown has helped me end many conversations before things got out of hand. It really confuses the opponent when they swing and you drop them quickly. They either calm down or try again just to get dropped a second time.

    Don't forget to keep your toes pointing straight and really follow through with the kick. It's not a damage kick so much as a sweep. You need to really get your leg underneath him in one movement.

    Aikido has many weapon disarms. Weapon disarms however are also one aspect of self defense and are more applicable in military settings, such as Krav Maga was intended. Having limited weapon disarms doesn't negate the usefullness of an art.

  • @lolll666
    @lolll66615 жыл бұрын

    i do not use this move exactly as it's shown in training, but if i'm sparring, it does only require a small push. you're not trying to trip him, just force him to base out on his feet, and then once you get to his side, then you do the real push. against better guys, i have to hold their arm at the tricep kinda like i'm about to arm drag them, otherwise they'll turn in on me but if you have their tricep pinned to your chest you can kill their balance much easier and it forces them sideways

    Not everyone on earth practices martial arts this move if you hit them in the Achilles will work on 90% of people and I can tell you I've taken people down with this move and it's very effective and after you take them down either put them in a armbar or go straight for rapid blows to the face while they're down

  • @iR3477Yh8u

    @unjustpork late update but whatever - I'm aware of the location of the achilles, I'm talking slight above it. between it and the bicep looking part of the calf, you know what I mean? That part is a LOT more sensitive to strikes to me then the calf OR the achilles

    To people who are watching and have never practiced a martial art or have never fought before, yes, this works and is very effective especially if you're bigger than you're opponent and once you get him down start going directly for rapid face shots on top of him when hes on the ground give him 0 time they will be down for at least a few seconds because getting a hard strike in the Achilles hurts like hell 99.5% of fighters don't know how to protect themselves when they're down unless they're very trained

    No . It's not power. It's timing and speed you need. The logic is that you push them off balance and sweep while they are trying to regain balance. No power required.

    I think you got half of this right. Push against him, like you would push him away, and strike. Also, in this case watch the right arm. It moves against the movement of the kick. I think the right arm move is ment to prevent a grab against the shoulder.

    if ur fighting against someone that knows what they're doing you don't just randomly try to pull this move u guys... I mean if u ever fought or wrestled you ought to know dat u have to set up your opponent b4 leading up to the move and not just go in and pull the move when the guy is aware of what you're doing. You gotta get him off guard first then do the move. Even volleyball and other sports will tell you, you gotta set up first then hit or take the shot.

    i think this could be effective after performing a burst at your oponent, with this and a burst combined you could take an inexperianced attack in seconds. could be effective if someone was to pull a knife on you, if you are quick enough they wont have a chance to strike you.
