    Bruce Lee used the side-kick to great effect. His side-kick was devastating and would launch his opponent off the ground. Good stuff.

    good morning, how should he do a rondhouse kick if you lead back? and if you reffered that it can hit your leg, you're wrong, cuz he tries to punch you, you grabbed his attacking arm, and kick him, in that position your opponent can't do a kick because you he attacked and you grabbed and counter-attacked faster, so he coulnd't start the kick

    @hiverocker im sure you can tell that to mike tyson. i use punching all the time and it works great when some ones throwing a kick and you move in to knock them on their ass with a good cross and hook. whats your style? and id take boxing more seriously. those guys hit hard and fast. then again i use 8 points of attack and it shuts people down and they dont know where the next strike may come from. especially when you get jabbed and loose sight for a moment.

    On my channel I have 4 different martial arts defending against a side kick. Ironically they are all pretty similar. They all involve kicking the leg.. since when kicking you are only standing on one leg.

    @44patriot mainly because executing the process of grabbing the wrist, twisting hips and launching the kick is pretty easily avoided by most UFC fighters. Also I don't know of any fighters in the UFC who do Sambo, correct me if I'm wrong.

  • @Tweet918

    @DaBhaalspawn That's why you condition your attacking tool - in this case, your foot/heel/whatever you happen to be using. That's what training is for. also, it looks like in this instance they're not exactly targeting a particularly solid part of the body - they are kicking the flank, which, even if the muscles were tensed, is quite fleshy. If this is the show I'm thinking of, the techniques are intended for self defense and this would be very effective in getting your opponent away from u.

    Actually the side kick can be nontelegraphed and extreamly fast if you just shoot out the front leg with your hips, not lifting the knee. its slightly weaker, but if ur aiming low it can serouisly mess someone up. look for Sanda Side Kick here on KZread.

    use your heel. its the hardest part of your foot, and will cause the most damage to your opponent. You will most likely make contact with the entirety of the bottom of our foot, but the emphasis of pressure should be on the heel.

    not a good idea because its risky for you? Or risky for the attacker? because I know if I see an easy opening for a choke or an armbar in some random street fight, I will make sure he needs a cast somewhere by the time we're done

  • @Daggerfall40
    @Daggerfall4016 жыл бұрын

    Yeah, It's like a jab with the legs. Not really used to do damage but it keeps your opponent in check if you go for his shin or knee. If you train it enough, it can have power and speed, just like Bruce Lee's side kicks.

    thats true but it leaves u off balance and mostly targets the body which can take more punishment then the face/head. if u ever watch k-1 kick boxing, you see guys throw kicks and their opponents take the kick to the body and punch the guy in the face before the guy's leg comes back down. BUT if u get caught with those kicks to the head, game over
