I love how these videos all have random equations placed in to make it seem legit!!!
I love how they try to make it all scientific with all the formulas popping up.
Agreed. If you watch it, you'll notice that the victim never moves or bothers to block. That's a rare oppertunity in a fight.
it looks like a hook, but actually it uses the rotation of the wrist combined with the rotation of the body to add more damage. Like a karate punch combined with a boxing hook.
Thanks for telling me. I find it funny how I asked a simple question, and people responded negatively to it.
True. Those are good counters, too, now that I think about them.
In Miami FL, we call this "getting swung on."
Thpouk Kang Sdam thank you mamn
You're probably into Tae Kwon Dope. This is the type of punch that lands quite often, especially if thrown in a combination. Just because something can be blocked doesn't mean it will be.
i have to agree with you on that
Oh cool, now I know how punch in a jaw is really called.
i think this one's actually called the one hitter quitter
He punches him in the jaw. It magnifies the vibrations in the brain which causes knock-outs. Basically it is violent leverage.
good point
thank god i saw this video, i would NEVER have known how to do this...
i tried saying Thpouk Kang Sdam out loud.next thing i knew shit came flying outta my mouth
yes.. it's a hook by any other name... just as effective... also, unless you train for a long time - DO NOT rotate your wrist - you want you hand vertical if you have limited experience of this strike... the reason being if your hand is horizontal it becomes easier to misjudge it and catch your opponent with the knuckles of the little & 3rd finger... which with that force behind them will break (it's one of the most common injuries for inexperienced boxers).
that's gonna leave a mark...
good night ,.one hitter quitter lol also the drunk punch
Same as a nice, clean, right hook using the hips like you're supposed to. Good illustration though.
They should have done an episode about wrestling. I want to see how Hulking Up, Ten Punches and the Poison Mist work.
wow we have alot of bokator experts here.
i like the sound it makes in the simulation i would be disappointed when it didnt make that sound in real life
That's the Rampage Jackson's punch !
ok im not very familiar with boxing or bokotor so please correct me if im wrong. but the thpouk kang sdam seems only a little different than a hook from boxing. like with the thpouk kang sdam u rotate ur hips more, rotate ur fist, ur arm seems to b bent more, and it doesnt start from the same position as a right hook. is all that correct or do u do that with a hook also?
Looked like a crossover punch to me.
This hook looks like if it uses the rest of the body to apply force to the punch instead of using just the arm.
Yep. It adds more acceleration to the fist which produces more power.
the dark one was IMMUNED from pain cuz this punch will make you K.O... and he's still standing.
were can i get or buy this movie on dvd woher bekomm ich die dvd? zu den animationen das ist sehr intresanter stoff
haha i was about to say "aint this a hook?" But it seems everyone else got there first!
it does shake the brain but the pain receptors from the tilt of your jaw bone grinding shock your brain temporarly stunning you. well it depends on the hit :)
It's all in the hips, yeah! :)
that kinda blow to the head would defenetly be critcal, but look at the big opening the other fighters got^^
that punch is called jr chuck norris
powerful
Boxer's wrist is commonly associated with punches of this nature. The golden rule of a punch keep your fist tight and your wrist straight and DONT rotate ur wrist upon impact u going to hurt yourself
@littlekuriboh21 You made me laugh so hard with the last part of that comment, brilliant!
Esa tecnica me funciono una vez y lo nokie al tio y es un buen derechazo..
key to strong punch=follow through
This would work well in a streetfight but watch out he can counter that in a blink of an eye.
looks like a step in, turning yur hips, and punching to the jaw
lights out
does the wrist movement actually help inflict more pain?
Thing is, some of these moves are supposed to be for life and death scenarios not picking a fight with every guy that pisses you off. So you can afford getting some damage while inflicting damage to the other person aslong as you come up on top.
that's pretty much all that it is without the followthrough; but a hook would do much more damage, 'cause the followthrough adds the force and speed at which the arm is moving as well
dam, good thing scientists are doing this. i woulda just named this move "punch"
You should try to to sweep him with your leg and duck while u punch it will give you more force and it will knock him to the ground.
@kunlunwudan very interesting thanks for the info.
math is everywhere... also, fighting is about using your body in the most effective way possible, so there are certain tricks and a lot of phisics involved that can be explained through maths :D
yeah mostly its the torso
@akalakalking its a nice move given for people when they are born by nature
Joe Frazier had the most vicious hook (left) that I've ever seen.
I punch trees and walls, so the skin of my fists to be thick
Sorta. Lineing the strike up with the bone enables you to hit hard, but the force itself is generated from the hip rotation.
yes if you punch wrong you will break your hand but technique teachs you that... same with leg kicks etc... you can break everybone if done wrong
AH! FLOATING MATH EQUATIONS
THAT is the one hit k.o punch
Aka, the punch in the face.
Power and force are not the same thing. Proper bone alignment can derive a large force from a reletavly small amount of power. However the bone does not 'create' any power. All of the energy in a strike comes from the muscles. So yes, you can generate a large force from a small amount of power, but the bone itself creates no energy. I'd recommend taking a look at the physics regarding work, energy, and momentum because you don't seem to be aware of the difference between force and power.
@Da0rky this reminds me of their space-pen.
@Da0rky Now that is awesome hahaha
punching the chin(jaw) shakes the brain. that can immobilize your opponent and he wont have control of his body. thats why it was hard for him to stand...
All depends on reactionary abilities of the defender. Most things could be blocked, you'll just be too slow to do it.
And that is how you break your hand!
OW!!!! .. he just nosed my fist D:
nah, leverage isnt the fist in the air. It's mechanical advantage. In simple terms, the amount of energy input (flying fist) is less then the amount of energy output ( the head that gets slugged). Imagine a lop-sided see saw with a heavy kid and a light kid. If the light kid is on the longer side of the see saw, there is balance. If the heavy kid jumps on the longer side, the light kid will fly to the moon.
Etzekly. How can i protect befor this hit ? could you take a link ?
no,the right leg, when stomped will exert force to the hand and the punch will be deadly
Just because they don't show the opponent moving or blocking doesn't mean you can't learn the move... even tho it just looks like a hook.. but anyway this show is the same as reading a book. These guys just introduce you the information. They're not trying to teach you how to do the move, they're just introducing it. It's up to you to apply that information if you want to know how to use it
its not a move really but a technique....so a hook wid extreme force....
Twist your lower back in the same direction you're throwing a punch
@Dragonwing5 wow... just wow
Its funny how the opponent lets him do the move.
whats the difrence between this and a right hook?
is the basics from the choy lee fut kung fu style
a hook can be aimed at either the head or the body... as with any punch.
Bokator:Thpouk Kang Sdam A.K.A. Big bomb A.K.A haymaker A.K.A from down town... man that dummy was wide open lolz
The holy trinity of fighter skills "Power" "Speed" "Endurance". An strong bunch can land u that K.O. only if it lands. Speed = fast combinations, dodge, weave, the "philly stance" is an good example of this. Endurance = Ali vs Fraiser, enuff said.
I never knew fighting involved alot of math.
@Da0rky this punch has been dubbed `FALCON PUUUUUUUUNCH`
How is this different frow a hook punch?
no follow through??
notice how he stops his arm
And what do you call this move? THPOUK KANG SDAM What? *spit*- Sorry, just ate a peanut butter sandwich, It's called a punch in the face
its hendos right power punch this is what he hit fedor with to drop him and same to get the lhw belt in strikeforce(i think)
it does
it's just more effective than bare hand
That's a haymaker punch sometime called a hook punch in boxing
I call this a right hook
Hahahahaha Bokator:Thpouk Kang Sdam = Punch
hmm it seems to me the lighter grey animated guy is in danger of a very effective upper cut in from the darker guy in this vid....lol
A haymaker punch is not the same as a hook punch. A hook is far more controlled and the elbow should be bent. A haymaker the arm is nearly straight, sort of a wild punch typically thrown from around waist height where as the hook your arms are typically shoulder height when thrown.
It's funny because they say it's the rotation in the torso... when a hip muscle is the muscle that moves the torso... therefore it's all in the hips D:
It almost looks like the old haymaker.
Hola buenas noches mi estimado amigo
not quite but i can make a bag jump alot more when i get to sqaure off like that
You guys, it's not just a name. It translates to "punch on right"
lol Bokator:Thpouk Kang Sdam aka right hook
You're not understanding what I'm saying. Muscles generate power, not bone alignment. What the alignment does do however, is make the arm less likely to break, and it decreaces the time that the force is applied to the body. The impulse (force x time) will be the same regardless of bone alignment, however if you decreaces the amount of time the force acts on the target the average amount of force increaces. Hip rotation/arm muscles generate power, and bone alignmetn lets it be used efficiently.
