You have the right mindset for sustainable work! This is a great setup!!! No noisy motors, plenty of towing power with that gear ratio, wow, just wow!

Hi Bruce, I had a lot of damage from a Storm in Feb 2014 which meant my system could not travel over ground with disturbed roots sticking four to five feet into the air. I had to resort to a more traditional method of log extraction using a converted digger and tractor. It can be seen on my goodlard channle. I hope to further develop the system when I have htis 4 hectare mess sorted out

Mountains you say... I prefer to stay away from mountains .. but here on the west coast of Ireland we have some hills and on them its about as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike, Thanks Montana Dad, gave me a smile

Спасибо за ваш комментарий. Тяжелая лесная техника разрушительна для лесов, и нам необходимо разработать способы заготовки древесины с минимальным воздействием, это может быть немного экстремальным и медленным, но требует дальнейшего развития

Replace bike with just a handle,and walk the balance tree out.

Hard to see in the videp but it was up a hill and the gear reduction made it a lot easier. On flat ground or going down a hill I agree with you..
