Who else here knowing and repeating the lines by heart.

This is one of the cutscenes that was so well made, it stood the test of time. Still disappointing that the others aren't remade. They clearly show their age.

Close to 17 years ago peeps, still holds up incredibly well. I'm glad that they kept the original Scenes but now in HD.

Ah, originally back from when blizzard wasn't completely terrible.

A cleaned up version of the original. Pretty good. And to all you complaining that this cinematic was not reforged/is the exact same as the original, yes it is. Blizzard said explicitly, MUTLIPLE TIMES, that they would not remake these.

Well from what i recall, i think they mentioned that All cinematics would be remade as Well, same as was the W3 intro cinematic. But thats only what i recall. If it aint true, i think i wont be buying it. Remade W3 cinematics were the only reason i wanted to buy and support the game.

They didnt even bother to upscale it properly ! There is a single dude that upscaled them with OPEN SOURCE machine learning software and it looks 10x better !

Still gives me chills years later!

The one thing they literally told us upfront when announcing Reforged was that the only cinematic that will be remastered is the intro one and the Arthas vs Illidan one although the latter would not be CGI. We might've been robbed of certain things, but this ain't one of em as this is what we've expected from the start.

They literally promised us upgrades to cinematics and this is pitiful. They did say not all will be reworked from ground up but it looks like not all means none at all!

The higher definition makes it look so much more clearer... So happy they didn't remake these ionic cinematic though :D

@@almas4663 They also changed Arthas' attitude. He never was a misunderstood hero. Just a bratty royal prince who was too arrogant to accept councel and criticism from people smarter then himself.

Stratholme atleast is (the way they redid it in Blizzcon 2018 demo) and they said few other maps would be redone as well. While Ive not yet played the game to confirm it myself, they talked about Silvermoon and Dalaran also being bit different and more akin to what they looked liked in WoW. Also the WC3 demo maps (Exodus of the Horde missions 3-5) that were originally missing from WC3: Reign of Chaos were added in to Reforged so now when you play the Exodus of the Horde tutorial campaign it has all those 5 missions instead of just 2.

I think this iconic moment deserves more than this! Blizzard Is rushing things out again, just like in 8.3. Please Bliz, bring back The unique art that we used to Love!

I don't think they changed it. Other than some stuff looking a bit higher quality, but that could just be me though.

I always imagine this cutscene with a victorious Arthas coming into the throne room in his Paladin armor - Light’s Vengeance in hand, and kneeling before his father. Then Terenas proclaiming Arthas the saviour of Lordaeron, and - for doing what had to be done to protect the people - crowning Arthas King of Lordaeron. Together they walk arm in arm and celebrate peace with the people of Lordaeron.

I have always wondered, and now that this is a more "recent" (albeit untouched) version of this cutscene, i ask: Is it an impression of mine or are arthas's guards undead already? I always thought they looked pale and even the royal guards seem unease when they see those soldiers.

They came from Northrend after staying there for a while. Of course Arthas and his guards would look pale. And about the skulls? Probably they assumed they were looted from the enemies they've slain

This was so epic. The universe built by the three Warcraft RTS games was amazing. Sadly one stupid WoW Raid later this story was done...

So glad it's not in 4k like that fan remaster. 4k just ruined the cinematic by showing all the tiny mistakes and technical restrictions back in the day. This is precisely what I wanted and needed: The same foggy fairytale aesthetic that's been going on for over twenty years, lads.

First Azeroth (Stormwind) is destroyed in Warcraft 1. Then Lordaeron is destroyed in Warcraft 3

World of Warcraft needs cinematics like this again

Stop being stupid with nagging, seeing how they did the intro and arthas v illidan i am happy they didnt touch the originals, and if you all forgot original ingame cinematics were in very badly compressed 360p and highest res available was collector's edition 480p which still was blurry in fullscreen. Now you see all the detail original team gave it. This one of few things i like in RF, because they messed messed up everything else.

It's very hard to spot a 720 to 1080P upsacale on a phone. You'll see the difference on a PC as long as you make sure you don't watch this one below 1080 on youtube's settings. KZread's compression techniques also mean that this upload is very slightly lower quality than the one that will play in-game, but that is very very marginal.

I though they remade the CGI cinematic? oh well

More detailed in HQ , That's the difference. Looks awesome , look the light effects in the crown. I like what they did. I think they rewrote the audio or it is in a better quality ( My level of English stinks. I hope I don't have spelling mistakes.)

Even to todays standards these old cinematics hold up so damn well, I love it. I'm also really glad they decided not to remake them, because there is no remaking perfection. The "new" warcraft reforged looks like a disgusting mobile game, so they probably would have ruined these pretty horribly.

The graphics don't look any different from the original...

It's literally the exact same video from the original WC3 with a new, unarguably worse, voiceover. Great dissapointment.

... I don't know if it's just me or not, but some part of this actually look WORSE than the original. I know this cutscene is the exact same as the original only in higher resolution, but there are times when this cutscene just looks... Off.

Really disappointed wth this tendenxy these last years to do "remakes" "reforges" "remastereds" "HDs" that just improve the graphics (and sometimes not by much and sometimes, sometimes add a little, very little gameplay twist and sell just because the nostalgia factor
