78k would be for a regular year(365). A Hulk Hogan year has 400+ days, so it bumps up to 94k… maybe even more Brother!! 💪

My dad worked this event and had been heavily involved at the silverdome for a long time before then. Stadium held 80,000 in regular seating and then an additional 12,000 or so on the floor, so 93-94k is accurate. Can’t speak on other things hulk has said but this number was true

The 94,000 fans in the Silverdome was not started by Hulk Hogan. It was most likely started by Vince McMahon himself.

That's a WWE lie. They have known to give false attendance numbers for their wrestlemania events.

Andre the Giant was in pain add head surgeries he's not lying about that and he also said he would never take the title unless Andre wanted him to have the title

What kills me is that people are busting WWF’s balls over 70,000 vs 93,000.. Before Vince came on the scene..wrestling considered itself fortunate to fill a 20,000 seat arena with a house show featuring Rick Flair and a card LOADED with stars. Vince and Wrestlemaina helped EVERYONE in the business make fortunes for themselves…so what if it were only 30,000…that is a tremendous feat for a sport that use to be a step above a carnival attraction for most of the world.

Even with floor seats the Silverdome had a seating capacity of just over 87,000 and a non-seated/standing capacity of around 95,000. Everyone from Vince to Pat Patterson, to Howard Finkle has admitted that when they announce their live attendance they are counting literally every head in the building. Including WWE and event staff. Security, ticket takers, concession stand vendors, EVERYONE. Vince himself has admitted numerous times that the WM3 numbers were ridiculously inflated and the actual paid attendance was just north of 70,000. A respectable number. But pretty far off from 93,000 the WWF claimed at the time. The actual attendance record was a legitimate 93,862 for the mass held by Pope John Paul II in 1987. This might be one instance where Hogan might not intentionally be full of shit but instead is just continuing to tout the kayfabe attendance numbers the WWE has always used.

Holy fuck people. This isn't a Hogan lie. This is a WWE lie. 94k was the number Vince and the WWE used to tell the public. It wasn't until the last decade that Vince finally admitted that they inflated those numbers big time. So Hogan isn't exactly lying. He's just regurgitating the number the WWE used to lie about. Also, that 80k seating is for the number of seats in the stands. Add in floor seats and that adds another 10k seating or more.
