The rings they had in the WWF in the 80s were also hard as rock with very little give, I'm sure that contributed a lot on it's own to his hips and spinal compression from all those leg drops.
@theboxingboy7422
13 күн бұрын
Blame that on Kevin dunne. Because the reason the rings are harder and didn't have much give compared to the ones that used to be in WCW and ECW is because he didn't like the way they sounded on television when guys would bump so to make the ring quieter they had to make the surface harder.

I think Hogan should have stopped wrestling after wrestlemania 19. But at the same time I get it. When you do something for soo many years, it's in your blood and it becomes hard to let go of. This is why a lot of wrestlers end up coming out of retirement after a few years.

The amount of surgeries he’s had is a surprise he’s able to walk .

"I'm in pain all the time but I'm used to it" As someone with pretty advanced arthritis and chronic pain I totally get what he means. It just sucks that as a younger person people just look and say "You seem healthy though" when that's so far from the truth.
@brianwt1
22 күн бұрын
For someone who is 70 he is pretty healthy and has those things as much as those things sucks it could be way worse he could be paralyzed or a lot worse dead.
The "it's still real to me damn it" guy becomes more and more relatable the more you learn about the post-wrestling lives of our childhood heroes...
Hogan wonders why he's had a dozen back surgeries, he used to drop that leg from top rope height. All that impact on his spine crushing his vertebral discs my goodness.
Hogan used to get serious hangtime on that legdrop, the nightly impact on his hips & back on those hard WWF rings must have unreal.
I'm in pain everyday for doing Traditional Tae Kwon Do for 15 years. So this makes perfect sense. But like Hogan says he doesn't complain about it because he's used to it. I can say I've become numb to the pain all I take is a Flexiril if my muscles Spaz too hard which is once a year but a lot of times I forget I am having spams due to tolerance.
Sting is a great example of good longevity. With the exception of the Seth Rollin match, the stinger never really got into any bad injuries nor had to go through any surgery. He’s also able to move a lot better compared to the majority of wrestlers who’s at similar age.
You can't deny when you think of Wrestling hes one of the first people that comes to mind ! Many Wrestlers didn't like him....But i guess he was there to make Money not friends....

I can relate to with having a buzz and your son is calling is hilarious that is true 😂
To be fair he looked 65 years old when he was 30,
It's not necessarily because of the leg drop (not saying it doesn't take a toll on the lower backs and hims especially for a guy hulk's size) but it's the insanely hard ring he was doing it on in the 80's/early 90's
I saw an interview with Maven a while back, and he said he’s in some amount of pain every day, and that dude only wrestled for about 9-10 years. Hogan wrestled for what, like 31-32 years? Love him or hate him, if guys who wrestled 1/3 of the amount of time Hogan did are in a lot of pain, then you gotta imagine how much pain Hogan deals with.
