It's funny to me how seemingly everyone that was actually involved with this has clearly moved on. Really now, the people that are the most invested are us fans. @@mshine7991 how Matt handled the situation publicly was wrong. He was obviously in an emotional state like everyone is during a break up. But there is a line where it should not have crossed -- that balance of separating one's private life and professional career faded away.

Crazy how that situation was the catalyst to Edge breaking out as a star he embraced the real life heat he got from Fans and became one of the greatest heels in history

Incorrect actually. Edge was already Mr. money in the bank by the time the scandal came out. He very much had a rocket strapped to his back already, the irl heat helped a lot, but to say that this scandal was the reason he broke out as a star is objectively false.

@AlexYBITW Edge feuded with Chris Benoit and Shawn Michaels, including getting a win over HBK at the RR, got paired with Lita, won the MITB, got a WHC title shot against Batista and feuded with Kane before Matt Hardy even came back to WWE. It's disingenuous to claim the Matt Hardy feud is what made him a main eventer. I even remember him telling Matt not make his return at his expensive and that, unlike him, he earned his main event stripes. The feud with Matt probably helped boost him further as a monster heel, but he was well on his way there without him.

Never been a huge fan of Matt Hardy or Edge, for that matter. But I give props to Hardy, for being a pro through that whole thing.

The Edge, Lita and Matt Hardy love triangle The OG Raw vs SmackDown story The Taker vs Orton feud The Eddie and Rey custody of Dominick The Cena and Edge feud The Mickie James vs Trish stalker story All of that made me fall in love with wrestling, at the age of 9 years old (now almost 28 years old)

For me, the hottest years were 2002 (to some extent), 2003, and 2005. If Matt had wanted to hurt Adam. He would have hurt him to his face in the back. Parking lot, bar, or house. Matt is straight up with his emotions. I'm deeply glad that everyone involved. Has moved on and is better off in life.

Hope one day Matt Hardy gets his flowers the same way Christian Cage is now. Very underrated performer, great mind for the business. His reinvention with the broken/woken matt stuff was excellent. Hopefully him going back to TNA can help some people see that.

I have always been impressed by how professional, mature, and forgiving Matt was in this situation. Imagine working with a close friend who stole your girlfriend. But Adam was impressive too by how he just admitted that he messed up and faced the consequences head on.

She said she regretted what she did and tells others don’t cheat just break up and end it. I told her a women after 4 years who I was so good to left me because she wasn’t happy and I’m going to keep trying to win her back. She told me it will hurt so much the more you try and your wasting time. Then she said even if I do win her back and marry her it will end badly

Both were equally at fault. I’ll never understand how some fans try to place majority of the blame on Lita because “she was the one in the relationship”, when Edge was literally married at the time. Edge cheated on his wife to be with Lita. Lita cheated on Matt to be with Edge. Both were unfaithful in their relationships.

Forgiveness is powerful. Give Matt credit for all everything.

Him saying how they all moved on pretty quickly is kinda crazy. I'm sure him and Lita did. Matt, at that point in time, had a life with her and wanted to marry her. He was in love with her. Just because he wasn't pouring his heart out every moment after that doesn't mean he moved on quickly just because you two could still work professionally in the ring.

From what I understood Matt and Lita getting married was never going to work out. She was ready to settle down and retire while Matt wanted to prioritise his career. Her being at home with a career-threatening injury while Matt continued to remain on the road contributed to the loneliness that she felt which led to her infidelity. All-in-all they weren't compatible enough for marriage.

Let's be real, Lita got te worst of it when Edge was the one who cheated on his wife with one of his best friend's girlfriends. Lita wasn't right, but she hadnt taken a vow to ve faithful to one person for the rest of her life.

100% she took the worst of it. Still to this day, when I see this subject being brought up, it’s always her name dragged through the mud.

I had a wwe tryout at a raw once and was having a nice conversation with Bryan Danielson (who had just started and was in nexus). We were both "indy" wrestlers. Edge walked over, looked at me and pushed me out of the conversation. I felt disappointed but I was a little fish in a very big pond. Plus I chalked it up to maybe he was having a rough day. We all have those.

But all they did was make CM Punk even more popular. If they really wanted to disparage Punk, they should have released the footage around the time of the incident. Not months after CM Punk was already settled in the WWE.

Can't exactly expect Adam to apologize forever but there's a distinct lack of ownership for why things went bad to begin with. He's talking like there's no one to blame or the blame is on them both equally, and if he felt that way, it'd be interesting to know why. He's answering questions without saying anything.

@@ThisIsMeAD Nobody said anything about not letting things go, he's being asked questions about his career and they're talking about one of the most high profile periods of his career. Again, the first thing I mentioned was not looking to see Adam apologize, but the mature thing to do is also not to gloss over the things you've done. Nobody is trying to villainize Edge, but a mistake is forgetting your wallet when you go to the grocery store, an affair is a chain of conscious choices. You say cast a shadow like he's some kind of victim, but both Adam (and Matt, to some extent) benefitted from controversy. Would have just been nice to hear something that even vaguely suggested it was on him to make things right with Matt.

the thing is i never really realized that it was Edge who started the affair with Lita, not the other way around. He apperantly send some messages to Lita about loving her and stuff like that, and Matt found out and went insane obviously as every of us would (especially when it's your best friend). Seems like their is no heat there anymore for a long time, but it's something no proud men can ever get less angry about.

Shows how ruthless Vince was, his first thought process is to make this an angle 🤣 must have taken a lot of restraint on Matt’s part. Anyone else would have ripped Edge’s head off

Literally nothing in wrestling was ever as important to as an Edge and Christian vs Hardy match. Matt has always been my favorite ever, but all 4 of those guys were the literal backbone for nearly a decade.

That steel cage match Matt and Edge had in Unforgiven 2005 is underrated when you talk about grudge matches. Straight personal and no punches held back. Not gonna lie, I hated Edge because of the real life triangle with him, Matt Hardy and Lita. Mainly because of the history those two made in the tag team division. But however if it wasn’t for that real life feud we probably would’ve never seen the birth of The Rated R Superstar and Edge’s Hall of Fame career. Big respect to him for acknowledging and taking accountability
