Shout out to the USS Midway veteran, I live in San Diego where the midway is now docked. I love visiting and learning about it and it’s history.

I've never got to meet you or your dad yet but its definitely a bucket list item. I truly respect and admire the way y'all carry yourselves. Y'all treat people as equals. To fish with one or both of you would be an experience of a lifetime. It would honestly be a miracle. I lived in Central FL my whole life until 3 years ago. The place was just getting overcrowded for an old country boy with the Viileges taking over. I caught covid the end of 2020 and its after effects caused it to where I'm totally disabled now. So long story short we took advantage of the housing market sold out and moved to SW Virginia. Best decision I've ever made but when the Lord leads and you listen thats what happens. Thank you for being you.

Pretty cool to see how happy you are to see someone famous, it's the same way people feel when they see you

Now that you’re far removed from the struggle buss era of a bass fishing career this lifestyle looks so fun! I know you don’t include all the downs of the job but these travel blogs are fantastic.

Try using the ice fishing carry pack with a small Dakota lithium battery and cradle to have a portable power unit for your graphs to power it up in your room.

Because of budget and the type of boat and trolling motor I have I had to get creative with the lvs32 and my set up. I have 2 small Dakota batteries that I made a portable case for. And I use an old trolling motor pole and peddle for my lvs32 so that I can use spot lock and still scan. Scott if you ever drive thru houston I would be happy to show you so you can see just how Aussie bush built it is or as you call it over here “ that sure is rednecked” hahaha

Awesome travel vlog, that was fun and unique. Two things, Thank you USS Midway veteran for your service and story, and to you Scott, for bringing forth a story from long ago about respecting other anglers. You probably don't remember, but in 2000, my kids and I met you kinda on the water at Okeechobee. It was during a tournament there and the "pros" were harassing my kids and I because we were catching some nice bass, but were using shiners. These guys would cut us off from the hydrilla edge and just keep flipping and casting. We would just reel in and wait for them to pass. It was you that told them they should just leave the spot, they were being unsportsmanlike, and they did. Thank you for being respectful. I will always enjoy the sport, you and your family, and that memory. Love what ya'll are doing 😊

Good travel day Scott. I was also in the Navy (1980 - 2006: retired) and really enjoy talking with other fellow service men, especially the older generations. Thank you for taking the time to talk with him, I am positive you made his whole week! He's probably still talking about how nice you are!!. The pickle ball was 'interesting'... not my thing, but ok. Seeing Hulk Hogan... coolbeans!!! I still love to bass fish, every opportunity I get. Favorite area lakes for me are Lay Lake and Lake Jordan, both on the Coosa River chain of lakes. Both about an hour from home. Really enjoyed the video. Thank you sir!

Scott, Did you ever see that cool photo hanging in Garrards bait and tackle. It was a wicked storm cell blowing in from the west . It was taken right behind Garrards if i recall. It was a tornado 🌪️ on the ground in total darkness at night. But the lightning strike lit up the clouds and ground so you could see the whole thing.. There it was coming right for Garrards back door. I don't know who took it but it was a awesome photo. Perfect timing as well. I mean how do you snap the picture at the perfect time the lightning struck is beyond me. It was in perfect focus to.. You could see the cell tower in the field and everything. That was award winning quality. They blew it up so it was a big photo and framed it. Scary dude!! I believe it went back up and did no damage. It was in all that farm land Out west of tackle warehouse. Anyway, good luck on wheeler. Jacob and DC didn't do good on wheeler . Huge rains had raised water way up and it was dirty.

Hwy 27 is the main highway through Somerset, KY and Lake Cumberland which you know very well Scott. Jerkbait in the standing timber if my memory is correct.

Put you a peice of lightweight tin underneath your little fire cage thingy and you should be able to just drag the ashes wherever you want to dump them. I was very happy to see your patience with the old guy telling his story. I felt a little like you didn't know whether or not the viewers would enjoy him or not but I was pleased to see you stay tuned into him even though he was having a bit of dry throat going on. You stayed with him and made his day and made mine and I would bet a bunch of other people's day too that love to hear old guys tell about things that they were part of that made a difference in the world in which we now live. You need not worry about us. Go with your gut and forget we are here. Roland and your mom raised you right. It will carry you through everything you do.

That second creek story is so cool because I fished my first big tourny (10k) in that creek!

It's amazing how one lure can be THE bait the bass can't resist. I threw a pumpkin seed worm with a chartreuse finesse tail on the bluffs on lake Tuscaloosa catching grown spots every cast while my. Nextdoor neighbor threw everything in his tackle box and couldn't catch a cold. I finally gave in and shared some worms with him. They still love them.

midnight express for me was Dennis Condrey and Bobby Eaton (1983-1987) but members switched out quite a bit .... probably a dozen other guys . with stan lane replacing condrey in 87 or 88.

Man I made it down to South Florida last week to go peacock bass fishing Was able to figure them out on the 3rd and last day😮 caught a good many Had the time of my life We thought about going to Lake Okeechobee, but ran out of time😢

We’ve got a place in Athens on Airbnb but it’s a drive from Wheeler to smith. Probably over an hour. I was trying to get the same group in it for the entire time but we had some nurses come in and got it before any fishermen. It’s 8 rooms, sleeps at least 20 and has plenty of parking. It’s a point of the lake on 20-30 acres Search motter Dr in Athens

That Garmin battery suggestion was an excellent idea. It would be a big time saver.

Bobby Eaton, Dennis Condrey, and then in about 1986 Condrey was replaced by Stan Lane in the Midnight Express. James E. Cornette was their manager.

Hulk Hogans dock back in the late 90’s was known for reds and trout. Like a string of docks around the point he lived on.

Great vid as always sir! On those swimsuits… DITCH THE FRONT WEIGHTED JIG HEADS!!! they force you to crank swimsuits in far too fast! You want Slooooooooow swim so you can antagonize fish into attacking!!! Get the 1/8oz belly weighted hooks with the screw lock and wipe them out! Crank them in Slooooooooow!

To power your units away from the boat, get another power connector and use like a 6 or 7 ah battery. Not that I'm using live scope, but a charge on a 7 ah battery runs a 5 inch unit on my kayak for more than 12 hours. Just an idea.

Those Vudu shad are the same thing as the burrito swimbait... Literally almost the exact same swimbait but a little bit more cheaper!! And they do exactly what you said they do if you use them exactly like you said to.! I've been using them
