Huge Wood Haul & Coffee By The Fire

Ойын-сауық

As winter starts coming to an end, collecting firewood becomes an essential task for those who rely on wood-burning stoves or fireplaces for warmth. The process involves selecting the right type of wood, which should be dry and seasoned to ensure it burns efficiently and safely. Hardwoods like birch are preferred for their long burn times and high heat output. It’s important to gather wood early, allowing ample time for it to dry, usually six months to a year. Properly stacked and stored in a dry place, the wood will be ready to provide cozy warmth throughout the winter months.

Thanks! The video doesn't really do it justice. Crap camera plus wind haha! But I stayed there for quite a few hours just watching the world spin 😊 It's a nice place

I wish that the energy company would say, we've had a bit of a rampage and give us some free electricity. Awesome stuff Ash, another winters worth of wood and the fun of the chop and filming.

Did your plot include any woodland? Have you thought about buying land with forest or is it too much work (if finances allow of course)?

It didn't unfortunately but we do have something currently in the works! It's going to take a while to materialise though

How are you preparing the track across the lake? Is it simply a matter of riding over the same line to compact or clear the snow?

  • @ash.pollard

Yea that's basically it. I go maybe 3 or 4 times and make it one track wider each pass so it can take the log trailer. Works surprisingly well as long as the weather plays nice. I would say fully loaded plus the snowmobile I am around a ton

I think we all know what a chain saw sounds like and how its used, don't need half a video on it!

It's Interesting how you say "we". Do you believe your own opinion applies to everyone who watches youtube? Personally, I quite enjoy watching videos of people chainsawing things and I'm almost positive I'm not the only one... 🤦‍♂️

@@ash.pollard Their is many who have heard a chainsaw, and very, very few who have not. You are not alone in these types of videos, just making a suggestion to you that may improve your videos.

@@ash.pollard Speaking for the entirety of my household (that is, me), the chainsaw to non-chainsaw content ratio is almost spot on. A few more close-ups, maybe even a go-pro on the bar or brake, that sort of thing...
