HUGE Swarm - Checkup on the biggest swarm I ever caught!

Fans of our channel will remember the epic huge swarm we caught a few weeks ago, so we wanted to give you an update as we perform a checkup on the biggest swarm I ever caught. Come along with Beekeepers John & Corinne Smith as we see how the hive is progressing.
We love hearing from all of our amazing viewers and subscribers. Please leave us a comment and let us know where you're from. Ask questions, and we'll answer them as we're able. We run a beekeeper supply store full-time, and we have been BEE-zee (busy) lately. Come by and see us in beautiful Russellville, Arkansas - located conveniently off of I-40.
We sell everything you could possibly need to keep bees. If you bee needin' it, we bee havin' it! If you can't visit us in person, check out our online store and let us ship it to you. Thanks so much for watching. Until next time, #RollThatBeautifulBeeFootage!

I admire the patience it must take for you to deal with bees. I only use honey unfiltered for my daily coffee. And what a difference it makes. Thank you for showing how beekeepers work.

When you concider there is about 17000 bees in 3lbs Yours was at least 8-10 so just times by 3, That was huge. Probably bigger then my 2018 swarm and my biggest one this year. You got some decent Bees there. The Queen might be a prolific layer and might want to watch they dont swarm again, The speed they are filling up.

WOW what a beautiful display of a very well put together colony . I do not think it all could be any better. I think you have a queen there that would make a great breeding colony. Pull those eggs, eggs , eggs . I would love to have a complete yard of her genes or my total setup!!!!!!. It is pictured perfectly!!!!!. THANKS for the update.

They are looking great. I caught the biggest swarm i have ever seen the middle of may and they are working on their 3rd honey super now and almost have it full. It has been a swarm year around here i have seen several big swarms come over my yard and and never stop. Caught a swarm with a marked queen that came from who knows where because i don't mark mine. She is doing great so i hate someone lost her. I'm still getting a swarm here and there show up that i know are not my hives swarming. I still enjoy getting them anyway big or small. Pet ol pistol and RTBBF ❤️🐝

I love love LOVE your beautiful bee footage!!! Will you - or what is the timing for putting on further honey supers on this great swarm hive? Sorry if that's a dumb question. I'm still learning about bees!

If I remember right we had one frame with comb on it in the bottom deep, and the top was all frames with foundation only. They combed all the frames in about 8- days and we added a queen excluder and honey super which they filled by harvest time. Thanks for the question. #RTBBF!

I've got one that was caught (not by me) on 4/27, and one from 5/09. They where on five frames around 5/27 when I get them as nucs, and are about to move into box#2 Unfortunately I've got two "nucs" that I installed 4/14...one has drawn about 3/4 of a frame, one about 2 frames! I don't think i'll ever buy vsh queens again.... or nucs from that supplier, since one didn't have a queen when I got it apparently! The timeline and supercedure cell says they where already starting to replace when I installed. He "had to pull brood" because they would "swarm" before he brought them... he pulled them down to about 2 frames and I think accidentally removed the queen. I'm contemplating a requeen and keeping the feeder to them(had it the whole time), i wish I could have one of this swarms daughters!

Always enjoy your videos. It's it true that a colony won't swarm twice in a season? I. E. They're will be no more swarms from the original hive after it has swarmed, or from a swarm that is caught and boxed?

Absolutely not, bees can continue to swarm till there's nothing left. Great question. Thanks for watching

You mentioned you think they are about done there. Do you move your bee's to another nectar source such as a soybean field?
