I have a Berner that I would not change for the world. Got him at 10 months old. He was a handful but with patience, consistency and training, he turned in to the perfect service dog. Watched a lot of KZread videos including Victoria’s to get the proper techniques to used.

My 120 pound malamute barked for 24hrs straight when he had to spend the night at the vet's. When I picked him up the next day, I heard a chihuahua barking constantly, finally I asked the vet tech... is that my dog? She nodded yes. 😵😞🙄. 💖🌞🌵😷

The same happened to me we visited the dog post surgery but she was so distressed we left her that the next day they didn’t let us in because they’d to sedate her the day before.

I took my collie to AKC obedience training and she would bark and bark and pull to say hello to all the other dogs. So, I started taking her to the park an hour earlier. We worked the long recall (we got up to over 1000 yards, she was just a speck and I used hand signals) with a couple of downs in the middle. But all that running around tired her out enough that then we joined the class, she wasn't so excited, she still was vocal (we worked on that) but soooo much more manageable just because she had gotten that energy out before hand. Sending lots of love 💖 from sunny 🌞 Arizona 🌵. Take care of yourself and each other 😷

As a fellow italian we love the new recall word!

I'd do decompression walks before and after guests' arrival/departure. Before to get out excess energy and be a little tired ready for that nap instead of barking at guests... and after to decompress the stress of strangers in the house. 💖🌞🌵😷

"His recall is not that good." YET YOU LET HIM OFFLEASH? If my dog reactive GSD gets run up by your dog, he would get bitten and then the person with the LEASHED dog would get blamed. As always

Exactly. I know my dogs are friendly, but I don't know if the other dog is. And I certainly don't like being charged by unknown dogs when I'm walking mine.

The fact that these bernese mountain dogs are called st bernards in the ep title entertains me because I (a dog groomer) has a client who has one of each - but she stubbornly calls the bernese a 'burmese', presumably because that m instead of an n distinguishes the breeds just a bit more in her mind!

My poor dog is so panicked outside after a neighbor's ogf leash pup got way in her face that she won't even eat treats out there. Trying to get her back to neutral has been an intense undertaking

I don’t think Victoria made the mistake especially considering she said BMD in the video multiple times. I believe it was the person who uploaded the video and runs this channel.

I'll never understand why owners who know their dog has poor recall, still let their dog off leash. Wouldn't common sense tell them to keep them leashed?? Even a long line is a good compromise. They're endangering their dog and other dogs that might not take kindly to a dog running right up to them, invading their space.

My dogs don't have perfect recall (they are rescue dogs) and most of the time it's okay to have them free because I manage to put the leash on time when someone comes and anyway most of the time no one is around. It's too sad to have a dog and never let him free just becausse he's not perfectly mannered all the time.

OK, recall in the wild is trained now and better, but what the dog will do in the situation when he/she see the other dog? I think that there will be no change at all, as he/she would like to play with that other dog... and give a sh*t to any kind of treat...

@@zstevenson8416 Yes, that's rather the point. It's viral marketing tactics and not really the hallmark of a reliable, trustworthy business (which in all other respects she seems to be, so the marketing feels incongruous and misleading).

Does anybody know why they got the second dog could it have been possibly because they love fluffy big dogs and just wanted another and nobody warned me the consequences of bringing in a second dog without the right set up. I feel like these folks had a lack of maintenance as far as training went if they were good why not maintain it?
