HUGE SPOTTED Bass from my FAVORITE RIVER!!!
Спорт
Just caught the strongest bass I have ever caught. Tossed in my favorite color yum dinger, Bubblegum Yellow Swirl and then THUMP. 5 lb 5oz 22 inch Alabama spotted bass in southeast Tennessee. Possible record size for this river, ( Conasauga River) there were no records I could find.

John at 12:20 look back, just before the release of that fish, over your right shoulder you can a good size one swim back and forth. Nice spot 5,5 Nice!
That's a creek monster, John. Great catch. That river system looks sick!
Great fish. I always love one that will pull your boat around. Finally caught some fish today, even if they were rainbow trout. I got 3 nice ones for my husband to eat. He’s very happy.
I recognize that bridge at the 6 minute mark! I was baptized right under it. Great to see a local guy make it as far as you have!

Very cool!
I just bought an old town 106. You're channel has really helped me rediscover my love for fishing and kayaking since I was a just a kid. Thank you for the inspiration!
What a beautiful day on the water with lots of fish and great catches. At @12:18 and your 9 o’clock was another big fish that came into view. Awesome video! 👍🏻👍🏻
This is why i absolutely love creek fishing! Our creeks are holding giant bass, bigger than most rivers! Great stuff sir....
Man, you have some beautiful places to fish! 'Pretty as a picture'. As my granny would say. 👍
Thanks for taking us along John. Glad that the result of your day was a PB. You deserve it. Cheers
That is true river beast! A trophy spotted bass. Keep the hunt for the river beasts going.
That's what keeps us coming back.
What a great day with some awesome catches! I can't wait until I can get the confidence and time to get out on a kayak in some of the local creeks and rivers here.
Beautiful spot for the beautiful spots those bass are fantastic unbelievable scenery too you getting better with that camera all the time John but you didn't have to improve much you did very good on the scenery portion and the fishing portion today was a knockout 5 lb spotted bass wow
Great bass, those large fish are so much fun to catch. Another great video, thanks John for sharing.
Glad you're day worked out into an awesome one. Me and my little boys watch every video you put out and will continue to
What a huge spotted bass! In a small river no less! Well done. If you’re looking for a lighter, but fairly stable kayak for the river, I personally use the Kaku Wahoo. It’s a no frills, kayak, but has all the essentials and an open deck. They come in a 10.5 and a 12.5 foot but the bigger version only weighs 76 lbs.
Got my "Creek Fishing Adventures" fix today! Excellent scenery and what a day catching spotted bass and BIG spotted bass! Enjoyed! Thanks for sharing! God Bless!
Just love the sound of the Birds while fishing. BTW John I really liked the music at the start of this clip. Congrats on the PB. 🤙
Wow, such a great catch. Over 5 pounds. The largest small mouth I've ever caught in a creek (actually it was the Russian River) was 3 pounds. Nearly yanked the rod out of my hand. The current makes it feel heavier. Glad you could release your record catch. I ate mine.
Wow what a spot! So happy for you John. Hope you keep enjoying success and keep the faith sir!
For creeks i love the round bottom kayaks by Old Towne because you can float in 4 to 5 inches of water or less, They are a little squirrely but you rarely have to get out due to it's buoyancy
John great catch man! I love spotted bass I call them "southern Smallmouth" because occasionally they will jump like a smallmouth and pull like a freight train! I also loved the way you opened the video!
Love the content and can definitely relate to the kayak dilemma as to the best for cutting upstream current and just ease of handling for lighter jaunts when not carrying camping stuff! Keep us up to date on how you deal with this!.....Nice bass!!
I’m going fishing tomorrow super excited! Hopefully catch some good smallmouth as well!
AMEN! John luv your videos! The sound of the birds, wildflower shots! Not to mention that awesome Spotted Bass. A monster!
I love your videos John, you do such a great job with them. I'm working and cant fish so I watch your videos and it's like I'm there fishing with you. Keep up the good job.
I sure did enjoy this video man,......I haven't fished the Conasauga in years. Appears that I need to though. We used to fish it over in GA when we were camping and hog hunting there......always caught a bunch of Rock Bass as I recall,....mostly on salamanders, or as the locals call them 'Spring Lizards'. Great video....keep 'em coming. It's a treat to see you fish water I've fished for over 40 years.
Grew up wading the Potomac and Shenandoah, moved to Texas and now I fish all year, yet I really miss wading and swimming and catching fish till your arms are tired. I kayak everywhere and catch big bass in heavy cover. I love setting the hook and having your kayak move instead of the fish. Keep on choogling brother
That records a coming John! Great day! Thanks for sharing!🤓👍
John deserves this fish. Good for you my man. I love that shirt my old faithful lure is a mini crawdad
A 5+ pound Spot is a BEAST! I've caught 4lbers in Lake Lanier and thought they were big...congrats John! Great catch...you are the creek whisperer.
Man what an absolute stud of a spot! I tell people all the time that as for me: pound for pound,I’d take a spot over a largemouth any day. They are by far my favorite of the black bass family. Stellar vid as usual,John! Grats on that behemoth.
Congrats on that beauty John. That’s the best of fishing right there.
And the Dalton legend grows!
Wow, what a beauty. That is a spotted beauty. Good and healthy. 5 1/2 lbs is amazing. Thanks for taking me along John. Great trip.
Congrats! Beautiful scenery too. Picture quality is really good; we could see into the water as you were going downstream.
Congrats on your new PB John! Love your channel! I am going to go kayaking for the first time this year this weekend because it has been so darn cold here in central MN.
a lot better than the half pounders I've been catching. congrats!!!!!
Love that river! I caught a 5 1/2 pound spot just one bridge down from that one years ago! I’ve heard of six pounders being caught from there!
Beautiful camera work! I'm a fan of that PVC post used for your rear camera. Gives a good shot of the water on your starboard.
cool intro music. beautiful river. nice fish. thank you for more underwater footage. hope you're well.
Nice John enjoy watching. Keep on making videos
Nice fish. I have a new outlook on river fishing since watching your videos
Caught my pb smallmouth in northern Ohio yesterday and then broke it on the same trip. Buddy caught his pb as well. Glad to see the big bass are biting across the country right now. Congrats on the beast of a fish
Congratulations on the PB! Keep up the good work.
Congrats bud! great fish! wish I was out there fishing with ya
Beautiful clear color's in the video. Some nice catches, that five pound bass was fantastic . Congratulations on that one especially. That video was first class . Thanks John stay safe keep fishing . Signed Will
Your musical choices are always excellent. They always make me feel peaceful ✌️
Congrats on the huge spotted Bass! I wish we had abundant fish like that in our creeks and rivers here in Northern Va.
Doooooooooooode! OMG!... hell yes...beautiful skinny water and AWESOME catch.... i saw how it ran like that and knew it was over 5lbs...lol...i love it...great job
I've been watching your videos for quite a while and I can't ever recall seeing you keep a fish or do a catch and cook.....

I don't much
I wish the water was that clear in North Carolina. All the creeks around me are real murky
Congratulations on that big spot buddy!! I live 10 minutes from a really good stretch of that river for bass in GA. They don’t get much bigger than that in that river. You have definitely set the bar
“Put’em in the water, John.” Me when I watch your videos. You hold the fish up and start talking… and talking… and… “Put’em in the water, John.” 😂
What an awesome catch John! Great job and another great video!
That is an insanely large spotted bass for that body of water. Wow. Great stuff man. 👏
Great catch. Congratulations on that PB!
Congrats young man!!! You got me by one Oz. but mine is a Kentucky Spot. I think the Tenn. state record at that time was 6lb 7oz. Those fish are true sport fish, pull drag like a bulldog and jump extremely well. Caught mine in the Tenn. River, Nick a jack below Chickamauga dam. Thanks for sharing and have a Blessed Day!!!
Now that was fun to watch! And to see how you brought him in!
A true giant river spot! Congrats John!
Amazing! Out of a beatiful river system
Nice fish! Thanks for sharing.
Always great scenery and nice big bass great job keep them videos going
Man great catch John holy cow!!!
Nice day on the water and awesome catch keep up the good work really enjoy watching you catch and exploring different places
So cool! That spot was having his way with you. 👊
So peaceful to be floating down the river with clear water. Nice size fiver spotted bass. Makes you wonder how that tire got out there. Video and sound turned out great.
Same day you posted this, John, I ALSO caught a 22 inch spot from one of my favorite fishing areas. This one on a Texas-rigged pink Stik-O. Fun coincidence!

Congrats man! That was a monster.
Congratulations on that Spotted Bass. Awesome.
Congrats John. Awesome fish!
Holy smokes that was a huge hawgasaurus spotted bass !!!! Congrats on a new pb. Nice vid as usual.
Really nice Spotted Bass. Congrats. I have a Hobie Outback and I love it but it weighs 80+ pounds so not really good to drag around. Keep a line wet John.
Congrats John that is a giant spot for sure!
My pb spot was 5.25 and in a creek system feeding the Oostanala river in NW Georgia. I caught a 3.94 last Sunday. They are in there.
Your just 3 minutes from my house. Nice fish brother. 22" long, 5.7 lbs....That spot was huge!!!

@@johnraypatterson6141 thanks! Throw a rock at me if you see my pretty face float by. I'm going to shadow John. Except it won't do me any good. He casts like a Larry Bird did from 3-point land.
Congrats on the spot !!! He was huge!!👍
You need to get a power pole for that yak so you can hold up when you are fighting a fish or even just hold up when you get to a hole you're wanting to fish. Nice Spotted bass there today, I sure like seeing the Coosa bass colors they are so pretty. The NDY angler has one of those power poles.

i have thought that but worried about it getting caught in trees, theres a lot of trees that my rods get caught in
Absolute stud man! Over here in coastal NC I haven’t had the chance to chase any spots! Incredible video brother
Congratulations 👏👏 always good to catch your PB any day especially while you're filming your trip.
Great day man! That spot is a TN trophy for sure 🤘🏻
Awesome.!!!! What a feeling that must have been. Congratulations. If you couldn't find any records, does that mean you won't get credit for that big guy.? Either way, you and us know what you did. That's so cool. Happy Fishing.
I floated a branch of the Flint River with my 9 year old this weekend . I caught a rock bass, 3 bluegill and he caught 3 HUGE red breast. And broke my Mitchell Epic Rod getting hung with a white swim bait.
Congratulations on the PB TANK! Great video 🤝🏼
Heeeey...I've been there before! Would love to see more of the river next time.
That fish was really beautiful. Congrats and safe journeys
Awesome catch John. I cant imagine how intense it would be fighting that from a kayak!
Great catch, John! Congratulations! I kayak fish as well. Something I’ve wanted to do to either cutout shuttle services or paddling back upstream is, get a scooter that I can load onto a hitch mounted rack. Go to the take-out first, drop off and lock up the scooter, put-in upstream, and then take the scooter back to the pit-in to get your truck. Yeah, it’s a little jockeying around, but you’d be completely self sufficient and on your own time, no one else’s.

Except when someone steals your $1k kayak and all your expensive gear while you're scootering to your truck. Or it floats away mysteriously. There is no easy answer except maybe one of those mud motor things? Otherwise you need 2 trucks and 2 people or a drop off / pick up person. No way around it.
@andybobsadventures

@@riverpirate1022 someone stealing your things is a possibility, but where I live and kayak it’s not a big concern. John stores his kayaks outside his house, I don’t think he’s too concerned about it either. Myself, I usually have my wife with me so she’d be able to look after our things while I scooted down the road.
@riverpirate1022

@@andybobsadventures Yea his storing things outside unlocked is another no-no anywhere I ever lived, and was raised. If you did that around here, you would quickly own nothing. Check out Ring camera postings and there are dozens of nightly intrusions into peoples yards and vehicles every night and every day. I guess some places just suck, and others are way nicer. Wish my wife would fish with me, she hates it, she has no patience and (rightly) thinks everything is polluted lol. (But I know some things aren't too polluted to wade fish in)
Grats! That’s a massive Spot!
Awesome fish man. There are some huge Alabama bass in that river that are not easy to get to.
Great fish sir! Great fish!
John my goodness that’s a big boy !!! Way to go may god bless you even more . 🐟🇺🇸
