Very nice haul. I gotta admit, I thoroughly enjoy watching your content. Perfect tone and you always find excellent deals. I hunt for tools just like you and I bring them home, remove rust and then return to service. Keep the content coming!!

that is some collection there ! Wow, I know now that there is a LOT of different tools that snap-on made, collecting them all will be very draining! At that point you get you gonna use. i picked up some, late 1970s ones just like yours here, just a handful of sockets, ratchets and torque wrenches, all snap on from a garage sale. The guy was the original owner and used them as a hobbyist only so they were in great condition. Love the black handle screw drivers. Got a few of those as well, they are really growing on me, just love seeing the snap-on lettering on each tool, makes it that much more special to own and use!

1/4×5/16 box is for bleeding brakes. You can try hitting the hinge on flex heads with a hammer backed up with the flat on a vice but warranty should cover new pins if necessary. I would disassemble the ratchet heads and grease them. That is a really nice set of tools in a sweet box!

Hope this late comment finds you well sir. You got yourself a treasure and a piece of history. I have a couple sets of metric sockets and a 1/2” Snap On Ratchet I rescued from a pawn shop that the previous owner had engraved. Every scratch, ding and chip in those tools or the box itself tells a story of a man that used that stuff proudly to put meat on the table and support his family.

Hello, You are probably right about tool number J21111, The kent tool. The Kent Tool Company made transmission tools for automobile manufacturers. The square tools were indeed used in band adjustment. Good call.

Nice haul. Box looks like model KRA59. It looks a lot earlier than 80. Probably late sixty or mid 70. You can usually see the model and a two digit number on rear of boxes that would be the year. It is stamped in and painted over faint imprint.

On the wrench that was 1/4and5/16 that is a bleeder wrench and the square wrench is for A/C ports on some older dodge and Ford system.

With the half-inch drive first remove the head then place the area that's loose at the end of the handle into a vice it looks like they may be bent out just a little bit and then once squeezed back in put the head back on and make sure to tighten the screw well and you should have no more slop

Someone took his Government issued tools home with him when he retired as they are all in English imperial sizing. Willing to bet from motor pool / heavy equipment mechanic as they were issued all the tools they could justify. Definitely not a home set based on the sizes and the fact that they are all in English imperial units. That's also the standard tool box for US government mechanics. Also, the US government has to buy "USA made" tools which is another big give-away as all the tools are USA made.
