Huge Saw Blade to Sharpest Tuna Knife. Unbelievable Transformation.
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Welcome back to my blacksmithing workshop! Today, I’m excited to share a special project with you: forging the sharpest handmade tuna knife from a massive saw blade. This knife is not just any knife; it’s designed for precision and efficiency, perfect for slicing through tuna with ease.
In this video, you’ll see the entire process from start to finish. We begin by selecting a high-quality saw blade, known for its durability and strength. The first step involves heating the blade in the forge until it reaches a glowing red-hot temperature. Using traditional blacksmithing techniques, we carefully hammer and shape the blade, ensuring it maintains the perfect balance and weight.
You'll witness the intricate details of grinding and honing the blade to achieve a razor-sharp edge. Watch as I meticulously polish the blade to a mirror finish, giving it both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The handle is crafted from premium materials, ergonomically designed for a comfortable grip during extended use.
Throughout the video, I’ll share tips and tricks for blacksmithing enthusiasts, highlighting the importance of temperature control, hammer techniques, and blade geometry. Whether you’re a seasoned blacksmith or a beginner looking to learn more about the craft, this video has something for everyone.

What a beautiful workpiece, and awesome delivery of your skill and dedication in a rustic shop that reminds me so much of mine. This video inspires me to start, and having watched so many forging channels in the past, I lack the knowledge of a smith and an expensive shop. But now I am grateful to see a "back to the basics" shop with a fantastic product as the outcome. Thank you, sir!
A great example of a unique style of blade. Forging different styles makes the channel more interesting and entertaining.👍

FYI saw blades that have a.carbide tooth or any inserted tooth. Those blade bodied are usually not suited for knives. Usually you want a one the tooth and body are the same. These typically are high carbon. The blade your using in the video does seem to be high carbon. This can be identified by the sparks why you were griding. Yes different shaped sparks are a I dictator of the carbon or lack of. The more the fingers in the spark the better. Thats rule thumb.

Thank you so much for your kind words and support! 😊 The dimples in the blade, often called "hammer marks" or "forged finish," serve both aesthetic and functional purposes. I'm not sure I'd call this forging. Let's be fair, you drew the shape and cut it out. Straightened out any minor warps, heat treated then sharpened. There was no drawing out any metal, no shaping. You fabricated it, which is NOT forging.
