IMO this is just horse play, Gene is planning to sell to Andretti - it will take until August for us to get the announcement. He's not investing in a factory that is not going to be used - because he is selling off to a US based team. Non-investment and taking a more technical approach is a statement of intent to Andretti. Other teams will now be even more aggressive in saying no to Andretti coming in, pushing for a Haas exit. In the mean time we are watching him add a couple of zeroes to the price. Well played Mr. Haas, may the odds be ever in your favour

SELL! SELL! SELL! BTW - If Gene wants a rolling billboard, he could get his trademark on the car by sponsoring the team. He could even get it for free if it was negotiated in the sale of the team!

Yes! I watched Mario Andretti race on tv when I was a kid, and after getting back into racing after watching DtS a couple years ago, I’d love to see Andretti on the grid! Carlos Sainz will still by my guy, but this would give me a team to care about too.

Since he refuses to invest more in the team there's no point in him still owning it, so i also say YES to him selling it

Haas acts like he didn’t know F1 is a cash hungry sport. You can not be a penny pincher in F1. You will never be successful with no investment in your team.

I hope andretti will be on the grid soon. As its own team. The 11th team. Please, because andretti is a brand of its own. Just do it...

Steiner was always very entertaining in pre and post race interviews - hope he can find a team to lend his obvious talent as a team manager

It would be a more competitive team than it is now!!!!

I think, If you're going to be an American team, you don't want to be using a competitor's Engine, as in their case, Ferrari. They are not going to sell you the same engine they are using. They need to be racing with an American motor. And if Andretti is going to do that, why not sell the team to him!

The cars are also built in Italy by Dallara. And Dallara are only successful in one make racing like IndyCars

How about 11 teams but only the first 10 win prize money. That will take care of any owner who is not competitive and just wants to pocket the cash.

Maybe, behind the scene, was that the deal between Mr. Haas and Mr. Andretti. Always money is in the Play!

Guys at this level aren't pushovers, like Prizefighters they have to be knocked out. Haas the seasoned veteran is on the "Bubble" and Andretti who is hungry, wants it. One thing is for sure, there will not be 11 teams.

Steiner put himself in front of Team Haas. That was shown by the Netflix program everything was about Steiner as is evidence in the comment sections, all they talk about is Steiner not about Haas. Steiner should have have been fired long ago. Even this video said the Netflix was about Steiner. Steiner was an anchor around the Haas Teams neck.

F1 is not a charity If If If Haas does decide to sell there is no way the selling price will be below one billion dollars. Not sure Andretti has that kind of money even with GM.

The mind is like a parachute : works best when open - let's hope that Hass will think seriously about letting go of the team so that a COMPETITIVE Andretti can take over with a real WANTING to compete at the highest level.

Andretti should hire Steiner and tell F1 and the FIA that they are ready to be a real US F1 team. Hass just wanted some prestige, and really didn't have what it takes to be F1.

It will be interesting to see if an unhealthy Williams reduces revenue along 10 teams more than any dilution from sharing a healthy grid of 11 with Andretti/Cadillac

For HAAS, can't be fun wallowing in a bottomless pit for self-preservation,, let the team go to see if it can get to a better place...

Haas sees only the money he spent, wich is quite a lot. But in reality, the car itself, is a Dallara chassis, with Ferrari components attached to it. There is no development, no future prospects, he does not want to invest more, but is sick of being 10th. Was was he expecting? Or should I ask, what is he expecting now?

An American who puts his employees interests above his own? And yea, people can blast me for this comment, but they know, there is a lot of truth being said by this one sentence!

For some years even the Sportscar Factory: Caterham had a F1 team, without much success. Hass has got much more publicity than asked for from Steiner! Sad that he is leaving.

Haas is like a kit car team, they buy engines, gearboxes & suspension from Ferrari. They buy the aero & chassis design from Dallara. Yes Haas fabricate these parts, but F1 is the pinnacle of motor sport & Haas doesn't meet that criteria. They should go, but being bought by Andretti, that another story.

How do you stop a team being comfortable running around at the back like HAAS? Learn from the past. Solve the money issues and sign up Andretti and perhaps a 12th team. Everyone can take part in free practice, qualifying and sprints when they take place. However, only the 20 fastest cars in qualifying can race on Sunday. Watch all the teams be very interested in not being the slowest.

Gene Haas doing the same thing over and over with the same result is a sign of insanity.

He clearly does have an interest in being 10th. If he didn't he'd invest in the team. It's no secret that if you want to win, you have to invest. Williams has realized that. Surely Haas is not so obtuse as to be unable to realize this.

Guenther's popularity is grossly overvalued. Not sure where this narrative originated.

How typical... Team Principal (the person who is actively involved in making the team work): We need more resources, aka, more money would be helpful. Team Owner (the person sitting on the side lines, mainly interested in profit): You lie. You must work harder! In fact, I am reducing the funds, until you succeed. Downward spiral, here we come. Sell it, while it's still worth something.

IF F1 doesnt get a real American team, they can say goodbye to this market! 3 races on OUR sole and we arent on the grid? GFTOH!!!!

Gene will sell to Andretti if 2024 dosn't pan out 100%.

Completely one-sided story. Guenther kicked Schumacher, a much bigger star than anyone else on the team, to the street.

Zero possibility this happens while Haas still has Ferrari enginer contracts and Ferrari has significant interest and vote if the team is offered for sale-it wont be to Andretti

Both Gene's and Ferrari's votes wouldn't matter. Its about money. Lets look at this in a real perspective. With a budget cap of $150 Million, its really doesn't matter as far a money perspective goes. Why you may ask? Because Title Sponsors and Engine Manufacturers have taken over the sport. Andretti CAN and WILL race in 2025, they just won't win prize money at the end of the year. They can still score points. They still can win Championships. They still make money by selling Merch. They still have the backing of more sponsors then Haas ever will. If Andretti score more points than Haas, which isn't a far stretch, Haas will be valueless to sponsors. I think midway through the 2024 season Gene will sell, maybe not to Andretti, but he will sell the team. I think if Porsche came to the table and offered $850 Million to Haas, he would jump on it.

Gene should do as He sees fit he holds the cards regardless.

What people need to recall is that Haas has been a back marker since day one in 2017. Not that it excuses Gene Haas's moves, just that the team has always been a back marker, Haas would be well advised to partner with Andretti Caddilac, retaining a "sponsor" ownerships role ( so his name remains on the car ergo he keeps his brand advertising) and let them run the team. it would be a win win for all involved,

GM being viewed as a big financial backer might be a stretch, since their EV aspirations have been worthless and bankruptcy is as likely as a good outcome for them and other legacy automakers.

My perspective: andretti gets it own team, with us manufacurer. Haas team suddenly has to performance, better than andretti on f1. Now that would be great. Not andretti buying Haas. Lets get some american competition off the bat in f1.

Wait, wait, wait, good years and bad? Since i started watching f1, HAAS has only had bad years. Don't you have to have good years for this statement to be true?

Not yet ready to sell. Minimum 1 year of bad results and the sponsors will start lo leave. Then the loses will increase and Gene will not fèel able to risk such a lot of money to save the team. Especially no garantes are on the table. So, after he realizes that his F1 business adventure just gets in the faze of big money investment or falling down he will sell it as soon as posible becouse the value will decrease fast. So the time window for the sale I reckon to be in 2 years time or sooner if Money Gram main sponsor sudenly leaves.

Gene's ego vs reality. Andretti's team will be a true American team, car, engine, drivers. Haas is not even close and never will be. Haas has lost it's pull for sponsors and fans after now loosing their very popular team boss and continuing to perform terribly. Selling to Andretti is clearly the best move. If he doesn't sell and Andretti becomes the 11th team all American sponsors and fans will move to Andretti and the team will cost Gene more and be worth less. All the while moving down the grid.

fake title....there is no huge news because Haas doesn't want to sell. What a waste of time this video was.

HAAS isn't the only underperforming team. Williams, Alfa Romeo, Alpha Tauri also are not so good. Andretti does well in every other series he has a team and would certainly do well in F1.

I think Andretti success everywhere else is the real reason the other teams in F1 don't want him there. IMO they're afraid of him coming in and being successful and it affecting their programs. They weren't fans of Haas buying a team either. Also seen the same with Porsche wanting to jump in completely and not just be an external part of a current team. Rich pretentious a-holes don't like outsiders who pose a threat, often resorting to any means necessary to keep them out of their club. I say open the grid up to anyone who can afford to play it makes the racing better and just introduce a top 10 get paid rule.
