Iam hungry again. Just had dinner some 30 minutes ago. Ooooooo I am a potato guy. That potato in the chicken chop looks so yummy. The ending. Durian desert by the side of the road second only to eating it under the tree at the kampong.

Hi you guys. Mee udang mak jah is made by my assistant's mother. Her original recipe. The prawns are freshly caught because the area is located near to mangrove river. He already has another franchise nearby Wangsa Walk if you guys wanted to eat mee udang mak jah around Klang Valley and they use the same prawn caught from Kuala sepetang. Nice video. Keep it up

Really really enjoyed this day, guys! *_Hainanese Chicken Chop_* - By now you know that I'm going to compare current to past so I checked out your experience at Yut Kee. That one had chunks of onion and looked like thighs. This one had a bit of tomato and looked like breast. I think Sheena had similar reaction to both but to me Yut Kee would win out due to the onion. 😀 *_coffee mill_* - Super interesting indeed. That process is unlike anything I've ever seen. Thomas' description as not bold and really sweet would cause me to pass as I like strong. Of course I also love coffee drinks like cappuccinos and lattes when I want a bit of milk but I usually go for black. Still, love seeing the roasting process up close. *_roadside Durian_* - Very very cool. I am a sucker for roadside fruit and veg stands. Like, even if I know I don't need anything, I'll swing through. In the states, it's usually small farmers who are simply trying to sell surplus to make a bit of profit and it's always more delicious than the grocer. No offense to Thomas. I know your previous life was at an organic grocer. 😀👍

  • @ChasingaPlate

So glad you liked this one Tosh! I am a huge dan of roadside fruit and vege stalls too Tosh. Back home you'll usually find things like mandarins, feijoas, stone fruit, lemons and eggs. We couldn't resist all the durian on this trip- there was just so much of it and it was so much cheaper than in KL. All about supporting small producers too! And there is something so nostalgic about stopping the car, grabbing a bag of fresh fruit and chucking your coins into the honesty box 😄 Thanks for watching this one mate. Cheers, Sheena

Chasing a Plate - Food and Travel Channel Hmm... there were used to be many2 more.. but they were all gone with modernisation; some brands are not there anymore. Thnk god Yut Sun is still there; 2nd to no one. But there is Kuey Tiaw Doli, a malay fried kue tiau which has their own packaging like Burger Ramly. Well, there are more but its non-halal. Taiping also known as town of foodcourts n you dont need to wait for pasal malam. Just pick the table n u can order abc, cendol, satay, mi rebus, rojak and many things more. Also, you should try buy confectionaries in famous bakeries there like Tops Bakery and Ipoh Bakery; if they still have it, try the egg tarts or chicken pie.

Had that Chicken Chop, it is about the best I have had. Also had the best wings from a lady who has a stall in the food centre, which she cooks on an amazing chain contrivance which passes the wings over charcoal. Her marinade is amazing and is made up of goodness knows how many secret herbs and spices. KFC eat your heart out.

LOL, I love that expression "prawny" ! I know exactly what you mean though, Malaysians are so good at intensifying the prawn flavour that it's not funny. Well done Thomas :)
