I went through a divorce 30 years ago. My son was 1 years old. I had no choice but to leave because my son's dad was an abusive narcissist. It was an emotional roller coaster, I was grieving inside but I put on a happy face for my son. When I had to share special days like Christmas, mothers day, Thanksgiving, birthdays, I got the best advice from my mom. She told me the day doesn't matter. Celebrate on the day you have your son and make that your special day. So sometimes we celebrated Christmas on the 23rd instead of the 25th. It doesn't matter the day! I have never remarried and I have had a full life. It isn't easy seeing your ex husband with other women it's painful, i know. But there is a happy ending with forgiveness and love after all these years. My faith in God and His guidance helped me through this journey. I pray that you will get closer to God and experience true love. 😊

Go to the salon & get brunette lob, a long bob. That would slay so much! Don’t cut it too short as you will regret it, long bob gives you the ‘new hair, new me’ feeling and refreshes your hair but doesn’t push you too far out of your comfort zone & allows you still style your hair. The kittens are absolutely gorgeous! Love that for you & the kids, such a good idea to get two together.

It’s been 15 years, and my kids are in their late 20’s. It gets even harder. I didn’t even get to see them at all this Christmas, because their dad and his new wife had “family” plans with them. Divorce is terrible.

I love the 2 kittens. So happy you have 2. They will keep each other company. Nothing like the love of cats. Your children will learn the love of a pet is everything. Wish you many years of fun with them. I can't wait to see what the one with the beautiful markings on her face will look like when she's grown. They are both beautiful.

I think cut and go brunette would look SO good. Plus going through huge changes, is sometimes the best time to try something very different that you always wanted too. My hair stylist listens and talks everyone through a big change hairstyle. It’s kinda a therapy session. She’s had too many clients do big changes as a knee jerk reaction to something in their life and later regret it. She would probably suggest starting gradually one way or the other and see how you feel about it in a few of weeks. You’ll figure it out, but my best advice is to not decide based on the poll.

Whatever she does is going to take time to adjust. If it were me, I would try a lot of wigs with brunette and blonde shoulder length hair in my own private time No one else around.

Hugs! It's going to get better. Three years ago I was where you are. Two years ago, I was alone in my home with my son and it was past me. Nothing lasts forever. I am sorry he isn't respecting the family unit enough to wait to date until he moves out. You deserve better. This will get easier and it will pass. You have your priorities right and you will come out the other end a better person and a stronger parent. We've got your back!

Coming from a blonde whose tried to go back to brown, it probably won’t last because you’ll miss the blonde. However, I’ve added more brown to my hair and really blended my blonde into my roots and I LOVE it! I def gives more dimension while still feeling blonde. I also think a cut would look so cute on you.

Every "non cat person" I knew changed their mind when they got a cat. I have had both dogs and cats, cats in my opinion are more loving, can be happy on their own and more curious/involved in daily activities. Also dogs are a massive responsibility and take up much more time to look after them a cat.

I wasn't either...and allergic. :D But I got a cat that was a rescue basically and fell inlove. They all have different personalities, like the orange ones are crazy, tuxedos are chill, black cats are the best (my 2 cents). She definitely has had a tough 2023 and I pray for better 2024 for all of us.

The kitties are beyond gorgeous! I am a cat behavior consultant and can say that having two is better than one! Just know that they are going to be wild for the next several months, practicing survival skills with each other. They will have to learn that your ankles or your kiddos ’ hands are not acceptable targets. Get a few kicker toys, have them in multiple rooms, and if they ever start to latch onto a human body part, redirect them to the kicker. I look forward to the product discoveries you will surely have in this department!

I cried through my first Christmas separated. We tried to open gifts together with our daughter. It was so hard. My daughter was three almost four. I don’t think she remembers it. She’s 19 now.

Could they have come over the day before or after? I don't think it matters much if it is the actual DAY of a holiday...it is the company you celebrate with. This is one of the things we have to deal with in divorces or break ups. Yes, you WILL get accustomed to it. Remember you had all those years getting used to away of life, having to consider others. NOW, you can put yourself first and decide how YOU want to do things, and live your life. It isn't over, it's just a new way of being. You earned the right to put yourself first, and that is NOT being selfish. It IS selfish of others to expect you to live YOUR life so THEY are comfortable, and get THEIR way. Cherish your time, your way...you deserve it.
