Wow, that coin machine is a BEAST!!!! The machine at my bank would have needed at least 6 bag changes, and would probably jam up about 6000 times😒

It's a bin unit. I work on those machine for a living that coin machine will hold 60000 coins conservatively without needing a change. Most coin machines use bags which have a $1000 bag limit on halves.

Just putting it out there that, that's a lot coins.

The coin counters are a GOD SIN.WHEN YOU don't was not to count the change. When you want to roll the change to take to the bank to bug the tellers

I never use coinstar due to the fees (I don't usually buy $6k worth of stuff on amazon per week), but I made sure this machine was freshly emptied before filming. Yes I waited for the coin truck to come and empty it (that's why I went fishing).

@KleshGuitars My mom has numerous bank bags full of old coins (Lady Liberty’s/ silvers/ halves, nickels, dimes, wheaties etc) that my Father (who passed away, yrs ago 😢) started collecting when he was a kid (probably since the 1940’s!). Many of the coins are 1800’s and she is wanting to get them appraised, BUT is skeptical of those she trusts...Who/ where would be the best place for her to take them for an “honest evaluation??” She’s 86 y’s old & afraid she could get taken advantage of from someone who just wants to buy them outright. BTW, I really Enjoy your channels & trout fish, Metal detect & do a little panning myself, here in good ole’ NC!

You should post some of your roll hunts... check for 1972-D no "FG" most people overlook that one! Also there are cases for a 1971 40% Silver and 1977-D Silver too, it was left over from the special 1976-S Silver. 1970-D is rare one but would be rare to find in circulation. Any year in MS+ is worth holding. I think 1987-P and D are overlooked for the lower mintage if high grade.

There are many, ..many hours of posted videos on my Live Stream Channel, it's basically all opening rolls of half dollars. Probably months worth of material over there. I check for Silver, Proof, NIFC (including the 1987 and 1970), obvious errors and toned coins. I usually end up finding lots of different things other than what's listed above as well. Lots of fun and lots of hours of coin roll hunting every week (10 full boxes of half dollars per week, unless I'm traveling).

A few months back I found this awesome 1964 silver dime, trying to find out if it’s worth anything, the mint says like “js” but I look it up and can’t find anything

I get my coins from a different bank (10 boxes of half dollars per week, minimum). I bring the bank tellers starbucks and other delicous treats so they like when I visit to fill the coin machine :) Bribery goes a long way in the banking business.

How far out do you go for coin roll hunting? I've tried my local banks and they have NO half dollars at all.

I have some videos showing a day looking for coins. I've driven well over a hundred miles and 20+ banks to get a single box sometimes.

Shane I believe you are the first to show coin roll hunting on live streams that show going to the bank and getting rid of them. Thanks dude and go get some gold and catch some fish for lunch.

What's the difference if he shows putting the coins in the machine or if you just tell somebody to do it, isn't it the same thing as long as you're telling somebody the right way to get rid of the?? That's awesome. I like dumping at machines since there's a much much lower chance that I will hunt the same coin twice. No bank in my area will NOT change you to dump. The lowest I have found is a 2% fee and that's at my CU. However, the casino just down the road does it for free (they want you to play) but they have to change the coin bag every $500...that would take you a while....

What would you estimate is the old silver coin vs modern crap coin ratio you find? One silver in X number of crap coins.

It may be different in Colorado, but I have averaged 1-3 silver coins per half dollar box. Almost everything else goes back to the bank. I will add that most boxes are skunks though

It could be anywhere from zero to 40 silvers per box. I've already found full rolls of silver though, so you never know!

No bags in this hopper machine. It can hold well over $10,000 in coins

I guess you reinvest that money into more rolls of coins. That is pretty smart, because you keep the one worth more so that is a good investment What a great idea. you can't lose any thing that way.
