I agree, the economy in the game is broken. Gold from the entire Brawl Pass is only enough to upgrade 2 fighters from 7 to 9 with 1 gadget and 1 star power

The main problem with gold is gears. When they first came out, everyone had so much gold so no one realized, but now that we've used the gold, we are seeing the massive lack of gold income that we really need to progress at a steady pace. Also gadgets and star powers now REQUIRING gold is pretty annoying.

No that’s not what happened at all. It’s simply the fact that after brawl boxes there is an insanely less amount of gold. It has nothing to do with people not realizing or people spending their gold. The game gives you less gold man don’t get scammed. Supercell is a business not your buddy. And yes for people like me where I’ve always had power 9 until the power 11 update gold is extremely nerfed. Before the update I could max out 2-3 brawlers a week😂 now it’s 2-3 a month 😂

We still get the same amount of gold before and after boxes were removed (according to Kairos) but now, there are so many more ways to spend gold that it's so easy to waste it. The game doesn't give you less gold, there are just far too many uses for it now. Also as controversial as it is, brawl stars was TOO free to play friendly back then with power level 9. Everybody had a maxed account and I don't think that's a healthy thing for a game, especially if it wants to make any revenue. Supercell is a business but they treat their community much better than almost any other company, especially for such a big company. If you want to call Supercell a greedy business, go experience what it's like to play any other mobile game (even clash royale) and you'll see the real difference between greedy and friendly.

The fact that there is no way to get 200-400 token doublers is a pretty huge nerf, idk what the devs are doing for 2 months getting nothing fixed about the economy, the new credit system seems more unfair in terms of progressive (excluding unlocking brawlers).

I think the reason players are complaining about coins is that the're rare. When you do get gold, you get a lot, but sometimes you just need 100 gold and then you need to grind like 10 tiers to get 600 coins, while jou just need 100.

After you reach the final reward in the Brawl Pass and you have the maximum amount of Power Points reached, you'll gain 229 coins per one reward, which is quite a bit.

There's also the fact that before, PPs used to be wasted around on random brawlers. Now that we spend gold on every brawler we put PPs on, it feels like the gold is few because we have more control over the PPs

I 100% do prefer the star powers/gadgets no longer being random to get, but I have to admit that they are draining peoples' coins more than most are expecting, I think. I think the loss of the RNG factor is worth it but I get the frustration as it can slow progression pretty noticeably, especially at p10/11 where you're gonna need A LOT of coins.

I think that the main problem with gold is that before, each brawler had their own power points, so it took longer to upgrade, and we accumulated gold. Now it is quicker to gain powerpoints for upgrading brawlers, so we waste the gold sooner

Powerpoint gain is slower. It's just that you put them all on one brawler which is making you think there are more. Before you got them from boxes and the pass, now it's just the pass. As someone who is in the late game this is just a horrible change. The resource gain is awful for og players who have every brawler on power 10. And there is less gold in the game overall making it worse

About the shortage of coins, here is my take: I believe we are low on gold because all of the ways we get gold, actes like i a "bonus reward" and plus, this is the first ever update since the removal of boxes, so it is natural somethings are going to a bit wrong, it is really unfair to attack supercell about this, just be patient cause they probably fix it by the next update. I would be cool if we adopted the coin shower event, permanently, and gain like 5-10 coins every win

I think it’s just that people are now instantly able to upgrade all their brawlers up to level 7 and at the very least level 5 but I’ve seen plenty of brawlers under 100 trophies already at level 11. They don’t need to wait to get power points from chests and levels 1-5 don’t have a purpose to exist anymore

Honestly I had an amazing gold period when boxes were still in the game but gears we still remodelled, I upgraded so many brawlers it was amazing, now i just dont upgrade brawlers as much i guess but it doesnt make a big difference cuz of how many i got in that time

People complaining that they can't push brawlers because they can't upgrade them, me pushing my power4 meg to r20 🗿

Sorry mate but getting R20 now is not a big deal anymore. When people talk about pushing brawlers they usually talk about getting their bralwers to R30 or R35 or powerlegaue and club league. If you can't upgrade brawlers then you wouldn't be able to compete in higher leagues because not only will you have way less choices in draft but most of the time your opponents are also as skillful as you but they will have an advantage over you because they are maxed out.

its really easy to get a brawler to lvl 10 but its really tough to get a gadget and a starpower for that brawler, especially when you need both gadgets for different modes or maps, for example grom whos really dependant on his tower gadget on bush maps, even 3k gold is a lot, 3k gold gets you lvl10 and a gear and thats mandatory for every brawler

The reason it feels harder to get gold is because we used to get boxes at almost every tier in the brawl pass and since they removed boxes, it feels slower to get gold

If you compare gears to some gadgets, yeah but on their own gears are good for this subtle buff and it really can influence the game

I have like 3k gold that i can't use because it is also tied to credits and with no vault,those would go wasted

I think gold is short primarily because of star powers and gadgets. Before the update, you could open boxes and get 2000 coins and get a star power at the end. You don’t just get the 2000 out of boxes and spend it, you get the star power on top. Now when you progress to 2000, you have to spend it, instead of keeping the gold and pulling the star power. Also because credits replaced boxes on the pass, you probably get less gold (adjusted for gold inflation) than you did before

Gold is short is because there isn't nearly enough ways to get it

To get a level 11 brawler with gears and gadget and star power at the minimum cost 12-15k gold.

A simple solution to the coin economy problem would be that Star powers/Gadgets can also be bought by Star Points other than Coins, since the value of Star Points has been lowered since the box removed so it makes sense if they give Star Points another use.

A more stable solution IMO, would be to trade star points at the end of a trophy reset. Instead of getting the offer for a mega box and a big box like we used to, there should be offers to exchange star points for gold, credits, and chroma credits. This way star points can get a lot more value, and we could get more progeression as well. Maybe it could be like 100 star points for 10 credits, or 100 star points for 20 gold. Idk about that part cuz I am just throwing numbers around, but that would be a good idea.

I find it odd mobile games make you upgrade characters you buy. Apex, overwatch, Siege, fortnite, Call of duty are a list of f2p-60 dollar games that don’t haunt progression by forcing in game currency. It’s 60 dollars a year just to continue the pass, so I don’t want to hear the argument “they need to make money somehow” This is just peer greed. Monetization on the game and cosmetics is horrible and is embedded in supercell games

They should make it so you can get gold from the Starr Road (whatever it's called) when you've gotten all of the brawlers in the game, minus chromatics thatre only obtainable via current Brawl Pass.

That's the reason I quit clash royal, not nearly enough resources to lvl multiple decks. You literally have to play one deck for like a year and then it gets nurfed all the time. Brawl stars should not be like this. I'm literally spending all my club points on gold and still don't have nearly enough. My club is in masters too... we definitely need more gold, or drop the price of star powers, gadgets, and gears at least...

The point of the need of the gold is that you don’t get anywhere other than brawl pass and club coins, I saw someone did a calculation that club league rewards do way more to your progression than 50%, pretty sure it’s 70/80 smtg, which shouldn’t be the case, you SHOULD not rely that much on club league. For someone who’s played for almost 4 and a half years, during the gears update it took me from being maxed to (almost) max out my account with some brawlers left. Let’s take a step backwards that we play club league, personally it’s not fun at all and they haven’t changed anything in the core gameplay itself , basically power league but clubs, and power league isn’t even rlly that fun to begin with….( from someone who’s L1). They should make more ways to earn rewards without making us feel forced to. Let’s be real , nobody likes being forced to play a brawler to get maximum progression, even with rerolls it’s just giving you another random quest you have to play for progression. I think they could just make it so that you would earn specific rewards in the map maker winners map. Tbh nobody’s gonna play it unless for quest ever since the remove of thropies, giving us rewards for try people’s map would increase the play rate of map maker and boost progression. Other than that they should implement more ways to gain rewards other than brawl pass and club games, maybe the story mode would. Also it’s pretty obvious that mastery is gonna be in the next or future update and I have low expectations since I 100% thinks it’s gonna be quests but dragged longer and harder for the sake of rewards.

My take is to nerf the current coin progression but also nerf how much coins needed to buy gadgets and star powers, gears should stay the same. Masteries are coming soon so I hope it has something to do with power points to change how upgrading works.

Very good tip if you have club tokens max out your power points so all power points that are claimed in the end of the brawl pass will turn into coins it stacks up over time and in challenges it’s very good I’ve done this for like 2 days and I’ve saved and now 2.2k coins I Recommend to do this

These are damage reduction shields gus and Edgar have decaying shield but they completely block damage

When gears were reworked, I got over 75k gold. Even though I got a true gold skin, won’t have to worry about coins for a long while

Just max out power points, then you get 2x coins from each power point. I use the club shop to stockbup on power points and then from the brawl pass I get only coins. I do this until I can max out a brawler, which is about 12k coins. Rinse and repeat.
