I am not sure where you plan to donate your unhauled books, but you should consider a local high school. Library budgets in schools are pretty much nonexistent and many of your books from this video are high circulated in schools. Public schools are also nonprofit organizations so you can get a tax ID number and a write off for the donations. Thanks for thinking about it!

Teachers cannot offer you the tax write off but teachers build their classrooms libraries on their own dime and I'm sure many teachers would greatly appreciate having these books for their students.

Selection series is such a guilty pleasure read :P

I’m also I hauling a lot of books, and I’ve come to realize I just like borrowing books from the library and then buying the ones I love. Maybe that’s something you can do too. Not to be mean or negative, just a suggestion because books are expensive! ☺️

No, this is absolutely a wonderful suggestion! I've found that I agree (and I learned the hard way!). Now I'm only buying what I either can't find at my library, what I cannot wait for / know will be a favorite or if I happen to see something spark my interest on rare occasion! And pretty classics. I cannot resist pretty classics!

This is what I've been doing also and it’s working out really well! The only downside is I sometimes find I'm not reading the books I own quickly since I'm prioritizing the library books to finish them before they are due, but the upside is I am only buying books that I super love!!

Amy Pendergrass I had had to unhauling books for other reason. I bring without any reason a bed bug and Recycle them and was a mistake because I do not have to afraid because was big infestation. The anxiety control me.

I love unhaul videos and I love the idea of only books you love being on your shelf! I am slowly working on that myself! :)

Girl yes!!! I honestly love cleaning out my shelves! I have a lot less room so every month I have to get rid of like 5-10 books to make room and it makes you reevaluate what you really want on your shelves and reflecting your love for those books! So glad you did this! I bet you have tons of room now!

That's such a great way to go about it! I want to get into the habit of unhauling more often so I don't have to spend a full weekend going through everything every once in a while! Surprisingly, I don't have too much more space LOL!

I plan on doing the same thing this weekend. I have so many books on my shelves that I’ve had for years and never touched. Plus I’ve gotten books out of the library that I really loved and would like to own for myself.

I did the same thing with The Selection series! I enjoyed it when I read it, but I don’t think I’d reread them again. And also with Fairest. I ended up not keeping that one too! Also, I can totally understand you giving up Eon and Eona! I actually think I need to reread it and see how I feel about it now because it’s been so long. I have so many things to say about so many books, but I’m pretty sure we’ve probably discussed this in person already for most of them!

I'm so itching to do an unhaul on my books right this second. Only it's 2:30 am and I don't wanna rile up my pupper. May have to do a rewatch for inspiration tomorrow!

I love The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up. :) I know I'll have to go through my bookshelves again pretty soon... I also really liked If I Stay, but didn't enjoy Where She Went as much.

I WAS inspired by you and got rid of 20 books on my actual shelves... it was scary to do.. but it made me feel good in the end... room for BEA AND BOOK CON :)

I wish I could get rid of books I haven't read but unless they sound absolutely terrible, I can't seem to do it. Good for you! Hmmm good point about Where She Went--I might consider parting with that as well. Hotel Ruby was really frustrating because it could have been so good! I think you'll be glad you unhauled if you ever have to move!

Good for you! I recently donated around 150 books and my bookshelves are bare but I am only going to buy books I feel I will really love and want to reread. the rest I can get from my library :-)

YAY I loved this! You were brutal (it was awesome :) So many books I don't blame you for the rush though I wish I knew your reasons for some toward the end. I'm so curious about the statistics - how many did you get rid of? How many books do you have now? WHAT DO YOUR SHELVES LOOK LIKE! The space must be amazing! So proud - even though I really liked some of those books I 100% agree only keep what you love!

I got rid of over 300 books! I only showed the ones in the video that most people would know of but my shelves are still bursting! I did a bookshelf reorganization vlog and you can see what each shelf looks like now in that video! I still have a ton left, but they're ones I love or that I'm excited to read!

That was one huge unhaul, way to go. The only books that made my heart break were the word cloud classics, they are just so pretty but your reasoning behind it was valid and of course what you get rid of is totally your business. 😊👍

It’s always nice to do a purge on your shelves every once in a while. If you have the arcs still, you can tear the page that had the autograph so you can keep the signing. Oh and your shelves look beautiful :D

Good for you! My hubby hordes books more than me then I save some for my kids to read when they get older.

I love unhaul videos and unhauling books. Especially if I didn’t like it. Unhauling books feels so freeing! And it just makes more room on shelves for books I do love.

I need to do this. I have a lot of adult mystery books my grandma gave me years ago that I don't think I'll ever read. But I just want to hold onto them! The struggle!! I'm sad to see that you're getting rid of the Eona duology. But I get it. Sometimes after a little time has passed, you just lose interest in reading something. I get that with library books I picked up on impulse at times.

Oh I hear you! I try to see if my library has anything I haven't read before unhauling because then I feel like I have a safety net (although, chances are that if I'm getting rid of it, I'm not going to seek it out to read once it's gone).

Loved watching this! Congrats on getting rid of dead space on your bookshelves! I've got super limited bookshelf space so I've had to be pretty ruthless about unhauling--like you said, if you loved it but know you won't reread it, what's the point of keeping it? I've actually gotten rid of the 3rd book in a companion series and kept the first 2! Weird not to have the whole trilogy but if I know I won't reread it...etc. (Also so glad to see someone else who wasn't head over heels for The Hating Game!) I need to film my most recent unhaul too and I've been putting it off so long! LOL. I appreciate all the work this video was! Spring cleaning = more room for discovering your new favorite book! :)

It was honestly so tough but I really needed this cleanout! And I've been debating doing that with certain series as well! And yay! I really felt like the only one who wasn't in love with The Hating Game!

It is nice to knowing that young ladies like to read romance and my favorites historical romance. It is hard to have up some books special the ones who had so attachments.

you are my book unhaul hero! I really need to go through my shelves, but every time I do I think to myself, "oh, I'm totally going to get to this one, I can't get rid of it" and then it sits there for another 6 months untouched... the struggle is real!

This is so inspiring. I really need to get rid of a lot of books. I had this thing a couple of years ago where I thought I needed every book that every booktuber had. Some of them I didn't like and some I never read and probably never will

So sad about the Diabolic and the Empress, amazing books, but I get it, to each their own! I also only read books from the library and buy them if I love them unless it's an author/series i know I will love.

How do you decide if you are or are not going to reread a book? You said that you really enjoyed several of the books in this unhaul but not enough to reread. How do you draw the line?

I'm terrible at unhauling books. I only recently decided to let a few paperback romance novels go! One of them has been on my shelf for 10 years 😅

What a shame you heard bad things about The Bronze Horseman, it's my favourite book ever. I need to do this with my shelves as well. I have books that I will never read from years ago!

When i was new to collecting books and becoming a reader i never thought to unhaul books myself, because in my mindset, THEY'RE ALL SOO EXPENSIVE! but now that i've read more...i'm kinda wanting to get rid of some lol

I unhauled 200-300 books a couple years ago because I moved a few times in a short span and realized I didn't need all of them. My collection is smaller now, but it makes me so much happier. (And it's still pretty big by normal standards lol)

If you want a Word Cloud Classics edition of Anne of Green Gables, you're welcome to mine. I bought it on impulse because I loved the edition (I'd never seen these editions before, at the time), but I highly doubt that I'll ever read it. No matter how gorgeous it is!

Where do you take ARCs to get rid of them? I know you aren't supposed to sell them and donating them to the library or goodwill ends with them selling them generally (I think) and I feel terrible about throwing them away. I have a ton from a few years back that I don't want anymore and I am at a loss for what to do with them.

I can never make myself get rid of books I hated because I want the visual reference for videos XD

I know you said you are donating these but have you tried to resell them on Amazon? They will purchase them from you and send you a label for them. I know you are saving for a house so that might help you get some money. It's a bit time consuming to scan them but if it's a tiny bit more money for your savings it might be worth it!

Super Space Chick That's true too! Next time check out amazon. They sell used books. I sell back my textbooks all the time. They don't take them all but some they do and some I donate. I was happy you said you liked A study of scarlet women because that's something I wanna read!

I know you said you were donating the books, but if you haven't gotten rid Assassin's Curse and Pirate's Wish duology.... Could I possibly buy them from you? I have been looking for these books everywhere!

If you do this in the future, can you please have a blog sale maybe? Because your books are in great condition and if I were able to buy them for cheaper from you it would be a blessing as I can't afford many books I want (especially since hardbacks are expensive). Xxxx

I just unhauled some books and mangas yesterday for various reasons (mangas mostly because 13yo me only had 2 chances a year to buy mangas and SHE MADE IT COUNT, thinking if they were really mangas she REALLY wanted, was ... in the background, really) ... now I kinda feel like a traitor, but ok.

YES! And it's a story with a narrative! I loved it so much!

I un-haul my books by re-reading them and If I don't get that painted picture I want in my head then I donate them to my local thrift store like Goodwill or Salvation Army so others can enjoy them I tend to un-haul a lot of my books that way because most of the time I buy the book read it once and then it just sits on the shelf collecting dust so why keep it when I know someone else can enjoy it

I'm going to spend this video hoping nothing I love is on the list lol

Oh no I loved Maybe In Another Life, but if you didn't love it that's fair enough 😊 If you want to read any other book set in Alaska check out the Great Alone by Kristen Hannah, read it a couple of months ago and it was a 5 star read for me

Thank you for this video. I have decided to unhaul The Darkest Minds trilogy. I disliked the first book and I thought I will give the second book a chance. It's just not working.
