Hubstaff vs TSheets : Which is The Best Option For You?

Hubstaff vs TSheets : Which is The Best Option For You?
PLEASE NOTE: NOTE - This video was made right before Tsheets rebranded as Quickbooks Time but most of the features and core information covered is the same still. We plan on creating an updated video in the coming months. Thanks!
Using TSheets but looking for something different? You’re not alone. TSheets is a popular time tracking solution, though it does have its shortcomings. Recent reviews on Trustpilot show the frustration people are having with its customer service and functionality.
One reviewer wrote, “I called and the wait was 50 minutes long. I tried chatting. Nobody was responding to my questions. They kept sending automated choices.”
Maybe TSheets works just fine for your team, but you’re looking for a more cost-effective solution. No matter the reason, you’ve come to the right place! Because in this video we'll be breaking down the key differences between Hubstaff and Tsheets, so you can decide which option will best meet the needs of your business.
0:22 - Platforms
Hubstaff is available on almost every operating system out there. You'll also be able to download the Hubstaff app directly on your desktop or as a mobile app. Which gives you and your team plenty of flexibility. Tsheets is available as a web app (used through your web browser) and a mobile app.
The most important thing to note here is the lack of a desktop app from TSheets. If productivity monitoring is something that's important to you won't have that functionality without a desktop option. Another cool feature you'll find using the Hubstaff app is you can track time while offline and your timesheet will be updated once you're connected to the internet again.
1:08 - Plans and Pricing
Hubstaff offers four different plans, the free plan, basic plan, premium plan, and the enterprise plan (list of features and pricing covered in the video). These are meant to give businesses of different sizes plenty of flexibility with the features they plan on using. There is no need to pay for features your business isn't planning on utilizing.
Tsheets offers two plans, the premium plan, and the elite plan. If you're a freelancer looking for standard time tracking features you won't be able to find that for free here like you would with Hubstaff. Also, you will notice that Tsheets adds a "base fee" on top of whatever you're already paying monthly.
3:20 - Interface
Hubstaff offers a straightforward and intuitive interface that you can make the most of right away. You also have access to a dashboard that you can customize how you want. Meaning you can keep tabs on all the information that's most important to you in one place. The mobile app is also consistent with the desktop and web app, so no matter where you're using Hubstaff you can expect the same intuitive expierince.
Since Tsheets doesn't have a desktop app we'll be focusing on the web and mobile apps. The web app feels just a little dated in comparison to other solutions currently on the market. There is no dashboard to organize the information you're logging either.
And, I found it very interesting that you had to open up different windows to access certain information. You can see in the video to track time I had to open up a separate window and it's not a huge deal but it does create a less smooth workflow.
If you're looking for an in-depth list of Tsheets alternatives we’ve compiled some options for you based on what TSheets customers say they want most: useful features, customer support, affordable pricing, and truthful reviews. You can find this list back on our blog!

That base fee for Tsheets is interesting I wonder why it needs to be added to the per-user monthly fee?

I guess the big one between Tsheets and Hubstaff is the integration with key accounting software solutions like Xero and Quickbooks (which now own Tsheets) making Tsheets probably more suitable for businesses with ‘Desktop’ employees and Hubstaff for subcontractors. Any plan for Hubstaff to integrate with Quickbooks and Xero?
