The loss today can be explained very simply with one thing: no strength left in the legs. This trickles to slow first step to the ball, slow movement overall, shanking shots all over the place (many unforced errors) because ball is not centered in the middle of the racquet because of being late to the ball, slower first and second serves and no energy all around affecting the mental game also. It’s all related to the legs!!! Those operations and age is really hurting Roger. It’s a miracle he made it to the quarters but he was exposed by a confident strong player.

His final match in singles. Who's here after his retirement 😔
Alas ! It's paining to see such a legend going down the history with 3-0 . I observed the balance and rhythm have diminished. Roger was found playing this QF with only his mental strength and not with the physical strength. It was all a drag. Never wished even in dreams to see this sort. However Federer stands out in the Tennis World as more superior than a "legend". Best wishes to Roger Federer.

A player should leave playing if he is not fit. Fitness can be never be a pretext for loosing. Applicable to nadal or jokovik. These reasons are like saying had Murray been not injured he would have won so many slams but that's not the case. This is the challenge of a sportsperson. Keeping himself fit and competitive. U faked injury in French open to play Wimbledon. That was utter cowardice. At least nadal beforehand withdrew from the tournament.

It was an extremely painful experience watching Roger lost to the young talent. My man lost all his best weapons which made him outplay the rest over years. He's still a living legend, but he's so close to the end of his journey.
This gen will see the rise of Big, versatile, movers (guys that have size, arsenal and cover the court quite well)...and Hurk seems well poised to win slams in years to come

Hurkacz will never win an ATP slam
Finally, all good things have to come to an end. Federer can better retire instead of getting humiliated more and more. It is very sad to lose the way he lost today esp the 3rd set as 0-6.
I feared a day like this would come. He could’ve put up the racquet after his 8th Wimbledon title in 2018 or held bloody serve in 2019 and got a 9th then called it a day. Don’t want to see this legend of our sport go out dragging his legacy

Phil L without a doubt, I just think it would’ve been a great way to go out as a champion defying the odds with his 2017/18 comeback. I don’t want him so go out losing a bunch now which will be the case more he keeps playing
Wild to think his last set at Wimbledon was lost 6-0
Glad to see Roger was back playing. Interesting moments regardless of the final outcome

Heartbreaking to watch for a die hard Federer fan. But Hurkacz played well so congratulations to him but no Federer fan would forgive him for defeating him and stopping him from winning a 9th Wimbledon. But seriously, Hurkacz can make it into the top 10 if he continues this form. All the best to him.

It would have been an absolute demolition of a dismantling if Federer had somehow made the final here. Hurkacz did him a favour.
That annoying lady screaming should be permanently banned from the tournament.

Once he was the best. And for me Roger is still one of the best. Tennis world must thank him for what Roger has dedicated. Great player great personality.
I was teary when Fed left the court at the end and I'm a Rafa fan. He has been such a huge part of tennis, I don't want him to retire.
02:58 That screaming was so stupid that made Federer did an unforced error at a important point.

At this point I believe that Djokovic is GOAT based in his age and the age of Federer and others. Djokovic is younger than Federer and likely will be a top performer for years to come
