Hubble Deep Field: The Most Imp. Image Ever Taken (Redux)

This is the latest incarnation of the HDF video. The narration has been edited to include research from a paper in Physical Review Letters (2004) which puts the size of the universe at 46.5 billion light years, not 78 billion as I originally stated.
In the video narration, I round that value up to 47 billion light years.
I also took out Numa Numa guy.

Using Pink Floyd on this video was one of the finest decisions ever made

Tony, I beg you, PLEASEEEEEEEEEE remake this video in 4K or at least 1080p. I'm sure a lot of skilled people would be willing to volunteer their time and efforts to help make it something truly great, but keep the music and the feel all the same. If you do this it'll go viral, especially with the help of social media like Reddit. I'm not exaggerating when I say that this video changed the course of my life when I first saw it during my early teen years (I almost cried). I gained a huge interest in science and physics, and I just got my masters degree in Engineering. Needless to say this video is very dear to me. More people need to see videos like this to broaden their horizons and obliterate the shell they live in.

15 years ago, as a 21 year old kid, this video made me fall in love with the wonder of our universe. I came back here as a 36 year old man and shared this video with my 11 year old daughter and I hope to ignite a similar passion in her. Cheers.

I've had this video on my favorites for a very long time, but still it gets to me on a very deep level when I watch it. I weep at the vastness of the universe and my inability to cope with minescule, in comparison, issues. This can really put things in perspective.

The only thing bigger than the universe is the selfish greed of many people on the planet earth; couldn't the copywrite' owner of the song make an exception to this one video?

Gotta wonder how many aliens are staring up at their night time sky at our sun wondering what kind of alien we are.

All glory and praise be to the Almighty Creator and his only begotten Son Jesus Christ. That's y this world is in such a mess, when we see and witness the wondrous work of the Almighty Creator, we refuse to fall on our knees and bow down and praise Him who created all things.

They blocked the sound. Goes to show what kind of perspective this site has. Copyright is more important than education.

The idea that we're alone in this universe is completely absurd. The size of space is truly shocking and humbling, but it's also beautiful in a way.

This is one of the best KZread videos I’ve ever seen. Saw it in 2007. Still watching it two-thirds off the way through 2022. My problems have just grown larger, and yet the JWT has its own shot of the Deep Field to help outpace them and keep me in check. For some reason the video keeps disappearing off my favorites list. Every couple years I spend a good 20 minutes to 2 hours to find it again.

This video is what would come up as the answer to "The Universe" as a Google search (back in the mid 2000's). The video quality and the current data are the only thing from stopping it from coming back to the top.

I just absolutely love your videos--there is something mysteriously ethereal, esoteric, and special about them. And you do such a spectacular job and leveling the information for easier absorption--engaging more of our senses with imaging, special effects, vocal tonality, and music. Thank you and the individuals you work with for the information, your perspectives, and your videos, Tony. = )
