What I hate about these reviews about Huawei, it fails to talk about its own ecosystem. You have Gspace that allows google apps to integrate very nicely with Huawei, quick app that intergrates web-based apps or petal search. He fails to talk about its music/video service that is offered to users for virtual free of charge (Watched the latest Matrix film for free when it costs £13 elsewhere). Does not talk about the benefits of petal maps/mail services or its AI services that I have now personally become to depend on. Finally, privacy features such as private space or app/lock and without google services monitor your every move. My problem with using huawei EMUI over the last two years, I will find it difficult to move back to the google ecosystem.

I was going to write a similar comment. Been running a p40 lite with no GMS for almost 2 years now and had almost no issues with the user experience. Maybe it was a bit clunkier in the beginning but has been smoother and smoother sailing. Still getting regular security updates. The Kirin 810 processor is as good as day 1 and the EMUI works practically perfectly. This is probably due to the fact that Huawei started heavily optimizing it after they could no longer be in the race for the latest Android version. To me this is a plus because it prompted them to keep updating devices like mine. I even saw recently that my budget phone is currently running EMUI 12 beta. I think the Huawei situation proves that reviewers do not take the time to do an actual real life testing and how good/bad a major change in UI like that affects the user. I get that taking the time to do this will not be trendy since there are new phones that release every week and they got to review those in order to stay relevant. That said, something like a third OS player on the market should have gotten way more coverage than it did. I can only assume that this has been somewhat repressed by the interested parties.

So well pointed out plus 5G isn't going to be good for ones health anyway, and plus Google have censorshiped RT two main reasons why I maybe buying one and moving from Samsung phones the main big reason that Huawei captured my attention was the amazing Camera way better than the Samsung 21 22 ultra and iPhone 13 pro max cameras. So yes I maybe buying a Huawei Pro 50 as it addresses all my needs . Photos calls text KZread. free films is all I need .

I buy Huawei BECAUSE they don't have google services. If you knew the volume of real-time tracking google does with all its services, you wouldn't touch a phone with google on it either.

@@idn you never really turn off anything, there are still trackers running in the back, you just aren't told so.

Lack of GMS isn't a problem anymore there's g-space which you can use as an alternative gateway to access Google services.

I got a P40 Pro for about 450€ this week...best phone i have owned.

If i had the choice of picking an android phone, it would definitely be a huawei flagship, even with the lack of 5G which i don’t care about, and the Google services which already have alternatives that work properly, it still is a very premium phone and huawei deserves the top spot.

I have been using a Huawei phone since 2018, and although I still have access to Google services, I can't recommend them enough!! Their other accessories (like Huawei's fitness watch series) are really great too :)

P20 then P30. P30 cracked from many falls. Had each phone for 2 years, well since the P30 is now broken I went back to my P20. It still works great being a little over 4 years old now. Love these phones and looking to get the P50

I used to be a blackberry phone user, then tried LG, then bought Asus, and finally tried huawei smartphones and settled with this brand. I started with Huawei Mate 10 in 2018, then in 2020 bought Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5 G and this February 2022, I am buying the new Huawei P50 Pro. Huawei brand is reliable and the absence of 4G is not a deal breaker since our country is not yet 5G. Moreover, huawei is very durable, I gave my Huawei Mate 10 to my brother and he is still using it until now. Likewise, the lack of google playstore does not matter at all since GSpace is available in the App Gallery.

I think you probably should introduce HarmonyOS to the viewers. P50 pro is not simply a camera phone. Gms and ios will no longer be the only choices for consumers in the future.

I just went to huawei shop today to look for p50 pro, users can access Google apps via its Gspace folder. Camera is great. I will consider this phone bc it can access Google range of apps. Huawei phones wud have been no 1 if it not bc of the trouble posted by the US, thus created an unlevel playing field.

Huawei would dominate if the Google ban did not happen. Hence why I went back to Samsung after the Huawei P20 lite. Must say,that phone was a tank, but battery life was draining quicker.lasted me almost 4 years.

I am impressed with how much lies was packed in this short clip.. You should be allowed to review product.. Also, watching this gave me almost no information on the device itself.

I was intrigued to try a Huawei phone without Google services, so I bought a used P40 Pro. Setting up the phone was very smooth, and firmware, and security patches, were upto May 2022. I don't use numerous Apps, and the Huawei Store met all my needs including the Opera browser. The P50 Pro can be bought for £899 which is £150 cheaper than a 256GB iPhone 13 Pro.

Huawei were ahead of Samsung and booming sales due to their phones being better than Samsung. Sadly, the US killed them with the ban and now they are in stasis as they reaccess what comes next. There is no doubt they were innovative and a class leader and I have several of their phones which remain fantastic after three years. I have an iPhone so no Play Store is not a problem though no 5G is. I am hoping for a comeback.

Who share photos nowadays with bluetooth when most of the pictures are uploaded to soc med? I don't even bother that my phone has bluetooth until I realised my phone has no headphone jack. With regard to apple mobile devices, I can always access almost every (if not all the stuff I regularly use) google apps and services I need on my ipad. The review is on point. A device with that huge price with a lot of compromises is not worth it. Maybe, it worth a talk but that's it.

I've always tried to find ways to disable google services on all of my phones, dont use Play Store, my mail is outlook, for which I have my own reasons, so this is actually a perfect phone for me.

Optimization on it sucks; if it’s anything like it’s Asian counterpart, the battery life tanked after the last update. Sure it increased performance output to put it within range of the A15 Bionic but is it something worth losing 2 hours of SOT over?

I have a Mate 20X LTE that was just updated to HarmonyOS despite being over three years old. It flies and battery life is superb, used 11% and had 45 mins SoT and 23hrs standby. Sadly, with the US ban I feel that the devices running the Play Store will not get the great software that Huawei now has. It is the closest to Apple in efficiency and performance of any Android phone using HarmonyOS.

Dude, you're talking nonsense. I'm using a huawei p40 pro and so far I haven't had any problems. The fact that some services are not available on Google does not make the phone useless! If you are a fanatic of Google and synchronization with them, this phone will not be the best choice. But for a casual user like me, I have everything and I have no complaints. There is no 5g on the p50 pro, but if you want your battery and internet traffic to run out in 2 hours, do not use 5g

i dont think 5 g will become an issue at all .. my sim card is 10mbps and i dont think id go over 20 anyway .. 5 g is an expensive waste of time.

You can use any app but the only way to do so is by finding the apk which is easy to find. The downside is trusting the apk file isn’t a virus

The changing rate on mobiles today I think we need to put eyes on this . Others are sky high on every models they come out and for what ? For a two years or some more and you will need to change it again specially the iPhones after 5 years they will not let you enter there or others like my iPad and always with a high cost . Also I am not mentioning the hanging in software which I am not sure it is their trap to make you change it . Yes I heard that there where court on this issue with apple .

These days phones are just smart cameras and less of smart phones as we dont really phone as often as taking pictures

The battery is much better than the Apple ones, even by older cheaper models

My burning question from Canada, which I'm going to repost in several places, is, where are all the video creators getting the Huawei phones now, particularly the P50 Pro? We have a Canadian version of their website, plus access to their original site. They have different options for smartphones but no "BUY" button, link, nor cart. Their Amazon store lists their products but no phones. Other sellers on that site have the P40 Pro at most. But in no way can I purchase them directly. Is the site being neutered by Canadian authorities? Because how are anyone else getting their phones? I'm willing to sacrifice Google functionality for the camera features. Thanks in advance!

Yes. And most google apps work anyway. I have a mate 40 pro and Maps work, photos, gallery, work fine. For Gmail I use Outlook and for KZread I use KZread vanced

Its easy to get google play services to work on any huawei device andfunction like a normal device. And anyone who uses youtube should be using youtube vanced anyway, its free premium youtube. Also there are many third party app stores that are extremely trustworthy like the aurora store which downloads apk files off the playstore with a dummy account. So its defientlyy worth getting. But why would you even want google play services? most apps work without it and are easy to get. And ones that do require it you'll find trusted modded apks (like youtube vanced - and yes you can sign in with your google account)

Download dual space and access google play store in there. Youre welcome!
