There is a superior new note app called Notepad app in the 11.5S

I ordered this model S" from 2024, but I’m a little worried that the display will be scratched. I glue special films to screen display-tablets and change them as they wear out, but I don’t have experience drawing on regular tablets to understand how reliable it is. It’s just obvious that the development of such a matte screen does not involve film, this will simply worsen the quality of the picture, but I’m still afraid that I’ll scratch the screen 😩

It's Nebo app. It has many good note taking features. E.g. handwriting to text conversion. And you can move text around easily, and write or type text to continue with existing text.

How does matted screen on this one compares with apples nano-etched glass?

It looks similar to me. So the main difference comes from LCD vs OLED and the Apple OLED is much brighter since it's 1000 nits.

Is it possible to side load the play store and play services like a lot of people do with kindles?

You can. But whether Google payment services will work is unknown for each app you use. If it does not work, you cannot buy apps, cannot restore past purchases. E.g. Such as shown in this video with Nebo app.

does anyone have suggestions for styluses have palm rejection for matepad 11.5 (hopefully budget friendly)

Only Huawei M-Pencil has palm rejection for their tablets. And you have to make sure your tablet mentions pen support.
