There's actually a single ultrawide selfie cam that crops to regular wide shots. The second camera is an infrared module + IR flood illuminator for 3D face unlock, that's why the extra space is there.

Does anyone actually tries the palm sensor(or all sensors)?

There is another feature of the pillbox cut out, it's some 3D stuff so you can use your hand to take a screenshot and scroll and if it had GMS, to even use your hand to pause a video. But the most useful part of it is that the content follows your face so the phone rotates based on how you are looking at it and not the accelerometer.

As a foreigner living in China I've used Huawei for years and will keep using it for many years to come as even the Google Play Store can be downloaded as an apk and works great. Still get all the games and apps I need on an awesome reasonably priced phone.

HUAWEI is awesome. I'm from China. I change my phone every year before I use Huawei. I had Huawei mate9 which I bought when they came out. And I'm still using it in US. And My husband has Huawei Mate20pro which I bought for him when it came out in China. Both have Google which is awesome! I'm so sad that they can use Google anymore and I love their high quality camera and fast charge features.

I own a P30 Pro for a year now, and I’m impressed with the technology, the build quality and (the o my god) cameras. I was convinced that Huawei will run the mobile phone game for years, until the US government said no. It’s very sad to see this kind of situations when Marques is holding all those tears. I found interesting everyone mentiones daily apps such as instagram, facebook etc but nobody mentiones banking app compatibiliy with HMS. Do we have any info of that?

Hisense just released a pretty crazy short throw laser projector + screen combo that they're calling a 'TV'. They claim that the contrast ratio of this PROJECTOR can outperform most OLED and QLED TV's. This might be something for an episode of dope tech in the future. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.

Ofcourse you dont notice any disadvantage on mate 10 because ban on huawei occured much much later and all phones produced before are not affected. Mate 30 pro and newer phones dont have google services.

please do a mate40 pro plus review, the 100x camera zoom is crazy

Sums it up really well honestly. Shame. And the competition is needed as well. but the curve... one thing about the hardware just doesn't work well... there is no benefit... (and of course the lack of a headphone jack) and the camera setup looks like the Nokia and of course the iPod Nano

Pretty sure curved edges on phone screens is just because they look "premium" 😕 ... and help justify the sky-high flagship prices 🙄 I've owned a Mate 20 Pro, with its curved screen, for almost 3 years and I still don't see a benefit to the curves. They just look a bit fancy, that's all. I've had this phone in a thicc case for almost all of that time, and a case like this actually makes the edges of the screen difficult to access, such as with "swipe in from the side" gestures. _Without_ such a case, the curved edges mean that bright lights and such cause glare from even more angles... The Mate 20 Pro's screen edge curve isn't even as dramatic as the Mate 40 Pro shown here. The Mate 20 Pro curves are occasionally annoying, but overall mostly neutral and pointless, IMO. However I think the Mate 40 Pro's screen curve would exacerbate the annoying aspects while _still not providing a concrete benefit..._ I've actually been dual-wielding the Mate 20 Pro and my old Nexus 6P for the past couple of months because the Mate 20 Pro has started rebooting randomly and being extremely slow and unreliable. The Nexus 6P has a regular flat screen and _I've been 100% happy with its flatness!_ There are _other_ areas in which using a 2016(?) phone kinda sucks, but _not once_ have I thought that the Nexus 6P would be improved with a curved screen!

@TheShnag The market share is irrelevant. Huawei's market competitors are Samsung, Google etc. It was eating their marketshare. Apple's share is independent since the user crossover between the interfaces has stagnated. Technically, Apple has no market rival especially when ecosystem is concerned.
