I really like the editing technique that you used for 4:36 because it really does give off a different view of the data instead of just having a full photo of the data. This really shows off your editing skills, informing me and other viewers that you are very proficient and talented with editing. I would be interested how it copes with Android Studio, load the "Hello world" app and run it through the emulator - Does it set fire to your trousers? Or is there any thermal throttling? And how loud are the fans when pushing it?

Hi, great vid. I bought the AMD version for work 2 weeks ago. I have to say it is an absolute bargain £580 and you get Bluetooth mouse and anc wireless earbud included. This has to be the tech bargain of the year highly recommended.

Yeh, there is a big price difference between this i7 we tested and the AMD model, and I don’t think the numbers add up (price vs performance). The model you got does sound like a bargain!

Nice video. just some feedback: If you could give some more specifics and stats when you compare theoretical vs actual it really makes the difference when deciding what product to choose. Fro example battery life - saying it was close is subjective - did you mean it was 10 hours or 9 hours? Also regards to the heat - is it 30 degrees? 40 degrees? As this really would make the difference for this type of laptop especially for someone who travels a lot and would have to put this on my lap a lot. Great work otherwise. you got yourself a new sub.

Unfortunately, the thunderbolt 3 port is missing, which means you can't connect 4k > 90hz monitors :( (from what I know, that left port only supports 4k 60hz). Too bad, I really like the laptop, it's the only thing missing for me.

What do you guys think about the MateBook 13 2020? Do you think Huawei is putting their mark back in the tech market?

@@bennytvyt in my opinion, no. The reason mainly being the charger, I personally prefer the less bulky charger. The matebook also feels more premium as its thinner, however, because it's so compact, the dimensions actually come out be 11-ish by 8-ish inches, so no bigger than the ipad pro. With the envy, it can be compatible with a stylus pen, which is a feature that's yet to be seen in the matebook series. In terms of more creative work, I would say go for the envy. But for a more premium feel and fast charge, I would go for the matebook. Hope this made your decision easier

I have the ryzen 5 3500U model and i am impressed, my Desktop pc is 9th gen i5 and the ryzen 5 is equally fast if i am honest, this laptop is lovely i use it for travel to classes to study abroad twice every semester and it's lightweight yet battery lasts long and I can charge my phone with it, i can even play the witcher and the sims 4 on it when away from home and it handles both games well, perfect and classy looking, get more memory if you opt for ryzen 5 and you will not be dissapointed 😉

Thanks for the test. Is the screen too glossy for outdoor use ?

How's the editing experience with Lightroom editing in terms of color accuracy? I got the Matebook D14 and I was slightly disappointed with the colors. I think I should have gotten this one instead. 😢

It’s good but we’re no pros at photo editing. Colour accuracy was decent and the touch screen makes for easy sliding across the options

Hello and Happy New Year! I want to check and confirm something I noticed about my HUAWEI MateBook 13 2020 i7. So on the edges corners of my laptop are slots, where I do not know if the design is like that or I received a faulted cracked laptop. Can you please check the images. Because it does not look right to me for a premium laptop. Do you also have those lines/slots in your laptops? Thank you!

It’s right at the top of the display, centrally, very discrete, no cover or anything though.

I finally bought this laptop and I LOVE it. My question, however is: Whenever I hover over the battery icon to see how much time I have left, it keeps changing, one time it'll say 10 hours then 3 then 4.... in 5 minutes. Can someone help?

Would need a third party app to try and control the fan profiles but not something we’d recommend doing.

We replied to your Facebook message but yes to fortnite and CAD, no revit or 3d modelling though.

Is the finger print reader needed or an optional choice? Personally I'd rather not use my finger print to open up my laptop because it seems like it could be big problem if you get an injury or it malfunctions. Please let me know as I'm seriously considering this, but that would be a deal breaker.

Hi! It comes as standard but you can choose to turn it on and off. Even if you have the option on, you don’t have to use your finger. Sometimes if I push the power to quick, it doesn’t register my print, so on log in screen, I can either scan my finger again OR type my password in.

For what use...? There isnt too much in it, although the Hauwei is more expensive but it's got the 1440p display, if thats your thing. Performance for day to day working, will be veyr much like for like almost. Neither ideal for gaming or video editing.

Something like AutoCAD fine, revit, modelling or animation, not sure the graphical power will be enough for a smooth experience.

You can upgrade from 8 to 16 at a later date, if you’re happy to open it up. Unsure if it’s got any additional slots though. You’d like to think it has two slots but I’m sceptical, it’s very small/slim

How does it handle high res photo (42mp) lightroom editing and also editing 4k material?

Lightroom at 32mp was fine, that’s the max we had at the time. 4K in PP is ok, video preview at 1080p tho and light editing only

Nope, it’s windows based, Chrome worked fine for me, likewise with other google apps. However, something like the MatePad with the Huawei OS, won’t.

Can u do a review on Huawei Matebook 14 AMD 2020 ? Or comparison with the Matebook 13 as well

@@davidphillips1874 overall pretty good, it's quick and responsive, also well built. only thing I don't like is the brightness of the screen which sometimes I found too dim even in low light conditions

Because Huawei run those camps? 🙃 China is a state capitalist country. The reason for US sanctions is because of a "national security threat" but wheres the public evidence they are one??? Huawei shared their source code with the UK government who first accepted them to build 5G and then once the US began sanctions, backtracked and said they will be removed... in 10 years. If they were a threat to national security, why a 10 year wait? 🤣 it's clear US sanctions are there to just cripple China's economy, nothing to do with their human rights abuses. All about power and control.
