Rob, I had initially been waiting for your thorough review of the Band 9. But, like you I assumed that it would be at least as good as the Band 8. So yesterday, knowing that your detailed review would take at least a couple of weeks to come out, I placed my order. Thank you for rushing a preliminary review out. You have saved countless others from making the same mistake that I did! I can only hope that Huawei make some firmware changes and improve the heart rate tracking. I know how all this bands, especially Xiaomi complete crap but ppl don't knowing for what they need all that sensors watch all that crap reviews about how it looks and no single word about how precise it measures heart rate. I had fit 1 and it's piece of shit. It worth noting. But i bought fit 2 for my wife and decided to try it. I was like wow! It's the same as built in measurements on cycling machine and ticker x. And from my perspective if it drops in price it's must have. It's really good. It's smaller, so for tracker it's +. And it last longer. Fit 3 looks better as watch. But it's bigger and who knows... It may be worse like band 9 to band 8

Huawei needs to explain it's self as I bought this one because of its improvement as stated but eventually not, I did compare it with the Huawei Band 8 and also wore both devices and compare them to a pulse oximeter and Huawei Band 9 had struggles on detecting my heart rate compared to the Huawei Band 8... but I hope updates will fix this issue..

I saw your video about the Huawei band 8 and was ready to order the band 9 this week because the price is stunning €49 with promo code. Thank god that i waited...but really what's happening, i thought that at least performance/accuracy should be equivalent. I bet this is software related but either way, gonna wait a couple of months now to see the improvements and hope you further test it. Good work!

Just look at the Reviews from so called "tech" youtubers who never not even closely talk about the technical sides of the devises and just talk about the outside stuff and software features.

I'm in the same boat, looking for a rather cheap band mostly for sleep tracking, I went with a used Fitbit Inspire 3, one of the best sleep tracking right behind apple watches, though I haven't gotten my hands on it yet.

Thank you for your amazing work, as always. Your reviews are second to none and it's surprisingly satisfying to watch all the data resulted from your accumulated effort, every single time. It's unfortunate the band 9 ended up delivering underwhelming performance. I'd been waiting for it, hoping to get it over the band 8 since it reportedly has ambient light sensor. Oh well, band 8 it is.

It's a shame. I bought it on launch with an early bird discount. I haven't tested its heart rate tracking during sports but for daily use, it does serve its' purpose. Hopefully Huawei sees your video and updates its firmware to become more accurate... goodness gracious me. Edit: Having it for about 10 days now as of this reply. This is my first health tracker band and first Huawei band. Battery life is very good, and I hardly ever feel it on my wrist. I'm actually more motivated and strive to exercise more. I don't miss my Garmin Fenix 6s pro at all! I have to say, despite its' inaccuracy in heart rate monitoring, the band functions as it should, which is to motivate me to exercise. I consider it a win, although I do hope that firmware can still be sorted out to get the best value for money regardless.

Rob, do you think huawei will fix these problems with tracking activities? If so, I am wondering how soon?

Is this the same sensor of the huawei watch fit 3? I can't find any image of the back of the device. Is there a review coming for this?

I'm just getting into your channel. I love the style! I've seen several of your videos. Do you have a website that has all the graphs you show? Heartrate for each of the exercises, sleep tracking, GPS, sleep, etc? It would be awesome to be able to see those all in one place

Hi Rob! I’ve been testing apps that imitate what whoop does but for the Apple Watch (Superset and Athlytic). A video comparing these to the whoop strap could be a great one (and a cheap one also )

Could you make a video about blood pressure measurements? Methods, algorithms and so on. Lots of brands claim, that they have this function onboard, but in practice it is absent, or it works inproperly etc.

Huawei Watch Fit 3 review please!

Despite the negative review, I'm gonna get this watch/band. R=0.99 for running is pretty good. I expect its got better overall sleep tracking than the previous generation as well. This band is not out in my country yet, so if the full review comes out before then and the sleep tracking is also poor, I might just as well go for band 8 or xiaomi band.

Apple has the best team of engineers. Apple is the richest company in the world. When you combine these 2 facts, it's easy to understand why Apple is so far ahead of everyone in the silicon game.

I believe the sacrifice for the high accuracy is power consumption. Although Apple Watches have around the same battery capacity as fx. Garmin and Samsung, the battery life differs by an amount of x4-x20 depending on model and usage scenario. Such huge differences are obviously not something caused merely by optimizing algorithms for consumption, so something else is at play - and I believe Apple's choice of sensors draw more power, and they're activated more often, for a better and more consistent result. However, this also causes excessive battery drain. If Apple were to offer something like a "Precision" setting where the Apple Watch would poll its sensors less often at the expense of accuracy, I believe they would last 3-4 days instead of the current 1-2 days, bringing them closer to the competition.

Thanks, i ordered the Huawei band 8 instead of the 9. Maybe they will improve the 9 down the road and then i can upgrade to that and hand the 8 down to someone else, but for now i need something that is fairly accurate. I wonder how accurate the watch based ECGs are... i suspect they are not.

that is the most possible cause of the problem, and they might fix it in the next update. huawei often launches their gadgets with software problems and fix it a couple weeks after
