Thank you for a lovely reaction, this is indeed a stunningly emotional performance, This programme was a competition where celebrity singers compete against each other, it was a very brave choice of song for any competition as it does not fit the norm and can make some listeners feel uncomfortable.. Hua Chenyu is a brave singer who refuses to be pidgeon holed and is just himself, he's a very spiritual person, but also very introverted, thoughtful, but also funny and caring he sees his fans as an extended family, I'd never seen any celebrity put themselves out there the way Hua has, I think with I'm you must always expect the unexpected! 🌺🌺

Thank you. Your silence during the video showed you were being moved by the emotion. Hua Hua comes from a wealthy family, so his pain is related to his loneliness, and being bullied because he was "different", not lack of material things. I think you may like his performance of "I am what I am" on Singer 2018. It was what he sang in the Final, having taken us on the journey, over the weeks, with his song choices, to tell us.. Who he is. His journey questioned why he'd been born to live differently ("Qi Tian"), through his lonely and bullied childhood ("Child".. stunning, and kudos to female backing singer), then his rebellious phase ("Nunchucks") and on over the weeks, trying to find himself, trying to fit in, his own failings, his disappointment in others and eventually.. "I am what I am"... I have to accept that, and ask you to accept me.... as I am. I was deeply moved by his portrayal of this Final song written by his own idol Leslie Cheung, who took his own life. Leslie was Gay and rejected by his fans. Hua Hua has foibles and didn't fit in, so gravitated to someone else struggling with acceptance of who they were. Beautiful and the lyrics are so eloquent.

Thank you and enjoyed your lovely reaction to this extraordinary talented Hua Hua. You have to see many of his performances to really appreciate his vast talent. You pegged him as being talented when one can go from one extreme style to another. He has so many more that are full of nice surprises.

Hua is like Dimash in some ways. You do not know what he is going to do but you know it will be good. Hua also is known to change genres, and he often sings in Mandarin with a few sentences in English. He does one song but you can no longer get it because it has been so blocked but it was about a son trying to get his father to stop beating his mother and it is just heartbreaking and he did it so well I thought it was his own story but later found out it was not. Just a performance. I cried like a baby, not once but every time I saw it. Dimash, Hua and Chris Stapleton are my go to artist.

I love this performance. And that is a great shirt, I want one too.
