Our former CFO (married with children) was fired when we found out he was having an affair with his assistant and paying for the apartment he rested for this purpose with company funds. Slightly more investigation uncovered that he was also paying for his home electric bill with the company card. Dude's salary plus bonuses were high six figures, and he threw it all away for a couple hundred extra dollars a month.

When I worked as a telemarketer in Akron, there was a guy who worked there almost all the time. He would voluntarily take both the day and night shift, and he was our best salesman. He would get a new car rather frequently, and we wondered where he got the money for it. Here, he was stealing credit card numbers from clients and go on splurges with them. He got fired.

It's a matter of how that party handled it because, while snatching things off people's desks is wrong, violating health and safety laws is even worse, as that causes liability. Now, if I was the boss, he'd have to be fired but I'd make a rule that dictates either "NO special whatevers outside of celebrations" or "Special things must be kept in employee lockers/locked up" to keep it from happening again.

Have a student who deludes himself to believe he is far more important than he is and thinks he's a "leader." He has a position on campus that is a decent bit important, so he "addresses concerns" the students have. Tried to get me in trouble last year because his staff felt mistreated. Many times I asked them to please do their assign duties, and would genuinely try to encourage them. By no means a perfect manager, but not like the manager from hell. They just wanted to fight every battle and simply NOT do it. The other group of student workers I had, didn't have a problem with me.. so this other group were just stubborn. For reference, one of his coworkers at the time was Chinese (slight language barrier but otherwise very fluent) When she wasn't around, the other coworkers would start mocking her Chinese accent, and he would of course be laughing with them. I found this out several weeks later after the fact (from an outside source), but if I had heard at the time.. I would dragged him by his collar to my office and screamed at him. And he has the audacity to pompously parade around like he's a leader. Leaders don't mock their team members nationality. Prick.

Had a dude who was dense as a rock and melted my quality equipment, calling me off of a lovely date to make repairs I had attempted to train him to perform. He stood there making highly uncomfortable jokes as a I worked with my then-girlfriend looking on. He hid important samples that needed immediate processing because “he would finish them when he came back.” He would file all of his paperwork incorrectly and then fail to make any improvements. He soon got arrested for driving under suspension, which was a consequence of being unable or unwilling to pay a small ticket. Keep it real, Nathan.

I have one for this: Two years ago, shortly after I became Assistant Manager at my full serve gas station, we hired this big guy. We'll call him Chris. He worked for us for 5.5 months and quit because he was moving 45 mins away and didn't have a car. He did many stupid things, including (but not limited to) -hitting on and stalking the MARRIED daughter of our town's warrant officer. -Making rude comments to female customers -caught multiple times smoking during fuel delivery/smoking on the fuel pad. (BIG nono) -Often ignored customers to take a break But the one that made me want to fire him was the day he ignored an overflowing truck when the safety switch on the nozzle failed to shut the dispenser off because (in his words directly quoted) "I had to finish the $10 sale I started" The conversation went something like this: Chris: "Hey, OP, there is a pump overflowing" (no urgency, complete matter of fact tone) Me: "how much?" Chris: "It's still going" Me: "WHAT!?" The costumer got to it before I did, about 5 gallons were on the ground, luckily the spill cleanup stopped it before any left the fuel pad. Customer got recompensed for the spillage (it was on his credit) and Chris got a very harsh write up, and I spent part of my afternoon replacing the whole dispenser hose.

I managed a pizza place a few years back. Had a delivery driver that needed constant reminding not to stand around and talk between deliveries but sweep floor, fold boxes, wipe counters ect. Well you know how it gets dark later in summer; in general people also wait later in evening to order pizza, after it has cooled down a bit. Well she comes up to me about 7:30, just as we are getting busy; " I need to go home". Me: "What? We are just getting busy now". Employee: " My husband doesn't want me to work after dark". I told her we could use another lunch time driver, she turned it down. So, I checked her out (processed her delivery slips and paid her mileage) then explained to her that I just did not need a driver who came in at 5 then needed to go home @ 7:30. The next day her husband came in all in a huff. I remained calm and explained to him..lunch shift or no shift. Simple logic. He huffed out.

In the eighties I worked as an aide at a nursing home that was subpar to say the very least. They were so desperate for employees that they'd hire anyone. One time they hired a man for the midnight shift. He would clock in, go to the tv room that had a couch, lie down and go to sleep. We were all puzzled. The lead aide would shake him to wake him up to no avail. She would then care for his patients. He did this for two nights...finally the lead aide woke him up and told him he had to care for his patients and get the up for breakfast. He told the lead aide that those old effers could get themselves up and if she woke him up one more time he'd kill her...the lead aide, a petite older black lady who was tough as nails, got scared. Long story short, the police were called and he was escorted off property in handcuffs. Come to find out, he had recently been released from a mental hospital...his social worker helped him apply for this job...yep...hire a person with mental issues to care for helpless elderly people...great idea. 😒

Not HR or a manager, just a part timer at a retail store, but we once had an employee who was just the laziest person ever. He was an okay guy and nice to talk to, but he constantly showed up late, only communicated with customers when they asked for help or checking out, didn’t clean the store at all, and didn’t do any of the hourly readings. He would just sit behind the register on his phone, which for most of us is fine if there’s nothing to do, but even when there was work, he wouldn’t be doing it unless someone told him to. The worst part of it all was that is that if you told him to do anything that interrupts his phone time, he complains to the other employees behind your back. One time I told him to be careful on his phone, maybe not use it if there are customers around. Few days later, he complained to another employee that I told him to get off his phone. He was gone after a few weeks. I didn’t know if he was fired or if he quit, but I just didn’t care.

A new parking meter guy was hired. He showed up first day wearing dirty ragged clothing, greasy un combed hair and no teeth. I told him what to do, how to fill out the tickets, the routes etc. He walked out and returned for lunch. After lunch I assumed he was out working but at the end of the day he didn’t return so I went to his desk where I found the ticket book with one partially filled out ticket. He never contacted us again so we called his number and his sister answered. Turns out he was basically homeless but she had cleaned him up, bought him new false teeth and forced him to go to the interview and my idiot supervisor hired him. I really don’t even think the guy was literate.

My story is kind of the opposite. I was an employee with a manager who was the worst employee. This manager who would just sit on his phone for 30 minutes or so at a time. We would be 2 people doing what is considered the work of 3 (due to their being multiple stations and time constraints on the product during production), and I would have to keep reminding him that there was work to be done. I would end up doing the work of 2 and half people. We worked in an industry where you work fast and you get out fast, but you get paid for the whole day. the guy before him and I could get an 8 hour day down to 5, 4 if we had a small production for the day or we busted ass. working with this guy was 8 hours everytime, except when he fucked something up (which was reasonably frequent) in which case it was a 9+ hour day. But our store was supposed to have 3 managers, and we only had 2. The big manager in all his wisdom had thought "I will send him to that store because he is dating the other manager." Something which was against company policy and had the foreseeable consequence of the management being terrible at their jobs but backing each other up. She would come in and they would start a screaming match at 8 in the morning when I just wanted to finish work and go home. Leaving that job was the best decision I made, even if I took far too long to do it.

I had this Bixh azz female manager I be tired then I finish unloading all the trailors I need done then I go up to her to ask if she needs anything else I said Do you nee..... Then she just says you can go half way thru me speaking like what type bs is that, your a manager not a slave master how could you have so little respect. They’d work you to death if they could I’d bet. I had to quit that place, got a new job ( my second job I’ve ever had ) everyone was so calm, a manager hasn’t even once raided their voice at me, they are nice and happy and easy to talk to. This shouldn’t even be something I should be shocked at and that’s sad, FedEx gets 0 stars, also don’t order fragile items cause I didn’t give a dam about the packages or did most of the other employees. I just be knocking em down so I can unload quicker. All the managers are pieces of 💩 except one super chill dude but a few month later I notice he went from reall chill to aggressive.

He spent half a day training on a regular forklift but then the next day, he was introduced to a different forklift that we have that raises the operator on a platform so they can grab product off a high shelf instead of pulling the product down. We only had a cleaning crew come in every other day, so sometimes there'd be 5-6 wet rags hanging around. One day I'm in the store by myself. The manager calls up, giving me all these instructions, and ends with, "...and don't jack in my store. I couldn't believe what I just heard, and asked, "What?" "Don't jack in my store." "Uh, OK." Rob dissapeared. He went to our boss one day and asked to use the company van for an family emergency and leave with van. No one sees or hears from him and not answering calls. Boss gets a call from the casino in town and their like you need to come grab ur van or its gonna be towed. Boss goes to the casino finds rob gambling all his money away and says get ur ass into work tomorrow. Never showed up no one saw or heard from him. Think he ran off east after his ex. Apparently he owed alot of employees money he had a major gambling problem. I believe the boss paid back people who were dumb enough to lend him money

I'm not the manager or supervisor, but I'm speaking for myself and one of my coworkers at Applebee's who had to experience this asshole. When he worked there, he hated doing his job. For example, one day when he was supposed to bus tables, he would sit at one of the high tops and wait 5-10 minutes to bus a dirty table. There were many other occasions of him being a creep as well, constantly texting the girls that work there and even creeping on one girl who I'm pretty sure was dating someone or maybe even engaged at the time (it was a while ago, so I don't remember if her boyfriend proposed before or after then). After he quit, he took a job at the McDonald's where the engaged girl was also working at (her fiance is actually a manager there). He was also doing a poor job there, but thankfully the management there was more relentless and did things like cut his hours and fire him after he threw chicken nuggets at the GM. I'm not saying my management handled him poorly, but I wishes they did because I know they hated him along with everyone else. I heard he came back and asked my GM if he could have his job back. He said no, but also tried not to laugh.

I'm done with the world of work", have been 7 years but I couldn't watch this all the way through. Made me remember once again how almost everybody I used to work with were arse-holes top to bottom in the rank. Civil servant, the union and the civil service structure was the only thing that saved me from their a$$holery and getting fired. Ther was no problem with my work performance either, just how they were. When I finally GTFO they were trying to make it easier to get rid of people. Also the new hires got a worse deal than we did (I started in 91 left in 2015), in that, I could retire at 55 (since I had a severe work injury I had to and I did). BUT the new people have to stick around until they are 65! And STILL put up with the constant a$$holery of the work environment. Anyway, I'm riled up now, off to watch something else that doesn't make me mad all over again

So my friend is the owner of a construction company and he hired a guy that he lost in one day one the guy lied and was not anywhere near as experienced as he claimed to he whined and complained about it very lightly raining he basically through a hissy fit when he got a little cut on his hand I mean yeah my friend has a medkit but dude you get a cut you just walk to the van get a Band-Aid or whatever fix yourself up and get back to work at most just tell my friend you're doing that and all good you don't need to throw a big fit over it but yeah he made it about 3 hours into an 8 hour day and had his mom come pick him up I feel sorry for my friend he always seems to hire the people who he ends up getting rid of very soon for one reason or another me and one of the guy are about the only long-term employees he has and I'm only helping him when I have time to because I have a full-time job

She wanted my job, so she began to complain to my boss that I was stealing. We had a problem tenant, and she began to tell him that I was the baddie and was picking on him and encouraged him to write and call my boss and demand that I be fired. She had at least one ex who showed up at work with their kids asking to take them somewhere. She wouldn't let him and a whole fight began in the office with the kids crying. Then, I found out she rang up an $800 phone bill, calling 888 numbers, trying to win a fur coat. She denied it, but they sent a card to the office in her name, asking where she was and telling her the coat was still available. I called my boss, who said they knew she was lying about me as things she claimed weren't possible, so they got rid of her. She then called me, screaming, that I needed to call my boss and say the reason she was let go was because she caught me stealing. I just hung up on her.

Yes I do walk fast but I tell everyone to just try to keep up some people just turn around going to HR to try to get a different job then just quit and never return. Out of a class of 10, 3 will quit day one. 4 will finish the week and 1 may last about 6 months.

I got three stories of bad employees! The first one was before I was in management with the same company. There was this black woman who is incredibly racist! She would verbally assault anyone of A different race from her that she saw as a threat or as weaker than she. I witnessed her attack two other employees one a male Hispanic who she would walk by and call him a multitude of insulting names in Spanish till one day he had had enough and called her a N bitch. Mind you he called her that once despite the fact that she was raining down racist slurs and demeaning phrases and names down on him for months despite him going and complaining to HR management about her. She ran straight to management about him calling her that and he almost got fired. The only thing that stopped it from happening was me and the other employees that had witnessed it stood up for him and told management what we had witnessed. Did she get into trouble for that? No. In fact what ended up happening was he was moved to a different shift so that she wasn't inconvenienced or made to feel threatened by him. Another thing that I witnessed from her was she decided to start attacking a white kid who is either developmentally delayed or had high functioning Asperger's/autism. She started calling him honky white trash cracker trailer trash white bread piece of trash etc. He finally got tired of her doing this after 18 months and going to HR management about her and through a racial slur back to her. She immediately ran to management and HR and this kid got fired. I have another one now from when I was in management at this company. I had a kid who was under me that would disappear to the bathroom for 45 minutes at a time in between breaks. He would sit in other departments on his phone for an hour and a half at a time and when he was asked to get to work he would freak out all over me and call me a militant racist bitch (he is black). When it was explained to him that I was applying the exact same rules to him as I was to everyone else and that it was unacceptable that he was doing the things that he was doing and we had a schedule to keep he went over my head to my boss and told him my boss that if they didn't do something about me he would quit. After having a meeting with my boss about the situation put in his transfer papers so he could go work directly under my boss. He joined the he-man Maria haters club! LOL My third story is a toss-up between four different individuals however this one kind of stands out above the rest. I had a kid that lasted 2 weeks. The first two days he showed up on time. After those first two days he started showing up hours late making up the excuse that he couldn't get his kids up and out the door for school. Mind you at the time that he was showing up school was letting out and he was married. His wife was a stay at home parent. Another excuse that he made for not showing up was that he was in a car accident however when he showed up the next day his car showed no signs of an accident. So either he got his car fixed really quick faster than anyone else that I know or he was lying. I ended up telling him that he needed to find a swing shift job or put his foot down and take control of his children. He got all three write ups in his first two weeks and was let go.

Lately they can't even seem to get the titles on the videos to match the titles IN the videos ("managers" vs "hr people," and that's one of the least egregious). My new least favorite is from the gibberish that happens when they censor dr*gs and for god knows what reason it also loses the spaces on each side and becomes "thedr*gsare" or "takingdr*gsand" or worse. Like, already the only reason I watch this shit in the first place is so I don't need to look at the screen while I play a video game or whatever, and that just defeats the purpose.

Is it? It could very well be a credit counselling company. Lot of them do negotiate with CC companies to reduce balances to a figure that the client can pay. It gives the CC some money instead of having to go into collections in the first place.

  • @FionaOfMountLawley

    @FionaOfMountLawley

    4 жыл бұрын

@@gerble36 The connection between credit scores and outstanding financial obligations is not really commensurate and there's a name for company which provide financial counselling; their called financial counselling companies. This is clearly one of three things, a debt buying operation, a refinancing operation, or an epiphitic organisation which found that theres a way to make oney by acting as an intermediary between creditors and debtors. How do they make money ? It's either by taking a commission cut of funds recover for the creditors, like a debt collection agency or it's taking a fee from the creditors to do all the work of recovering ouystanding debt. Ain't no-one who already has acute financial issues paying (extra) money as a fee to a third party organisation on top of their existing liabililties to the people they actually owe money to, by preference. Third option, if it's a refinancing operation, then it's a lending institution which charges interest, and is only of any benefit at all in relation to rate consolidation, which is very much an issue for things like credit card debt. The particulars of the story strongly suggest that this isn't the case. But they are either the creditor or are working for the creditors.."Making arrangement with debtors to make a payment to a creditor", what other understanding can possibly be formed, based on that ?
