I'm surprised that a stock crawler would have that much interference with the tires and body, I put a venture body on my scx10 and get the same rubbing issue. My body cracked on one corner from this but was fixable

Yea that is a known issue. Most people trim the wheel arch of the front wheels a tiny bit so on full lock it doesn't rub.

Started off with a 3s, lipo, then a 2S, and then finally the stock NimH battery towards the end.
