HPI Venture SBK Completed! My thoughts on this RC underdog
Ойын-сауық
No-one bought the HPI Venture. The sales have been pitiful and it's completely overlooked. But... is it any good?
Let's take a look at the completed chassis.

FORGOT TO MENTION: The Venture also (weirdly) comes with a servo saver. I've done the servo saver delete mod, as well as those mentioned. Cheers!

Hi, I realise your vid was posted years ago…… just have a couple of questions: What did you end up doing to help the roughness of the ‘boxes when bolted together? Where did you get the ally bumper mounts from? And finally, what size wheels & tyres did you fit? Cheers, all the best up North.
Beautiful project! 🤩 This Chevy looks so amazing! Really nice 🔥🔥🔥🚀🚀🚀😀

What a lovely looking build that is Mike. As you said, when viewed on the trail, you won't see any faults with the paintwork.

You're welcome. Enjoy!
Delighted to find this channel and from a fellow scot it's refreshing to find someone that will be able to pronounce words such as chassis and aluminium properly 😉👍 I'm looking to get one of these with the 4runner body to replicate my old Hilux Surf that I miss dearly 🙂consider me subscribed Edit: I got mine on friday and built it yesterday, really enjoyable build 👍

Welcome! Ha! Yep, tell me about it! That's a great idea and a very good basis. What happened to the old Surf? Just rusted away? I know they were prone to that.

@@TheRCScotsman It came in via Finland so was actually surprisingly unrusty as they don't or didn't use salt on the roads. Unfortunately it was the fuel pump that started leaking and after replacing it it was never quite the same (Toyota think it's hilarious to make sure that even in such a large engine bay that there really isn't much room to work on stuff, the main bolts holding the fuel pump onto the engine block were actually between the pump and the block, I put a 5" lift on it but due to the angles it meant having to swap out the uj's fairly regularly. Great truck and i'd have one again in a heartbeat despite this, I miss driving it down to my folks in Edinburgh as due to the size of it folk would be only too happy to get out of your way, parking it was a bit of a pain in the hole though😂)
Nice Venture build there! Just finished up my Venture FJ build as well. Love the platform and wish it had taken off!

Thank you! Ah well, you never know. It's very well regarded, so might still become a success story... I'm not betting on it, though!
The Venture is my all-time favourite crawler. Mine has a 4Runner body on it.

Happy New Year to you! Nah, no build vid, just a build thread on the MSUK Forum. www.msuk-forum.co.uk/forums/topic/244956-hpi-venture-sbk-build/#comments
It's either this or the SXC10 ii. I'm learning towards this HPI Venture as a kit. Worried about replacement parts availability in the coming years.

I love the Venture, the quality of materials is second to none, but you'll have an easier time finding parts for the Axial, for sure. Although, you can use the bumper mount adapters to really open up the possibilities.
Looks super mate. Can you still get all parts for,it?

Thanks, Ryan. Yes, although it hasn't been a strong seller, so goodness knows what the future holds.
Hello Mike. I've bought an FTX Outlaw and i'm looking to do some upgrades on it. I was looming to get a brushless motor, ESC and Lipo batteries. As i am relatively new to the rc world, would you be able to recommend any good parts? Cheers Rui

Hi Rui. I'm a fan of the GoolRC 3500Kv motor & ESC combo you can get on ebay. That's what I use. It's cheap and cheerful and perfect for the Outlaw. As for lipo batteries; definitely 2s, probably hard case. I like Overlander and Core RC batteries, although I use a Floureon in my Outlaw.

@@TheRCScotsman thanks so much for the advice/recommendations Mike. If you don't mind me asking, i understand the lipo batteries have what's called a dean connector so i was wondering if thats suitable with an upgraded esc? Thanks. Rui

@@RuisRcAdventures The GoolRC system had deans connectors on them already, if my memory serves me right!
Yo Mike! Is this still in use?
